Astrid's POV

Dad was waiting in the speeder outside the school as me and Zac left the building.

"I gotta go, Zac. I'll talk to you later." I said. He nodded and headed the other way. I hopped into the speeder. "Hey Dad." I greeted.

"Hey Astrid." Dad said while heading home.

"Is Mom still at work?" I asked.

"Nope, we got the rest of the day off." He said happily.

"Sweet!" I said happily. Something was off. I could tell. Dad was extremely quiet and was nervously tapping the steering wheel.

"How was school?" Dad asked.

"It was good, I guess." I answered, glancing at our neighborhood as we drove by houses. I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. Something was way wrong.

"That's good." Dad responded as we pulled into our drive way. We got out and then headed inside.

"Mom, we're back!" I called. I sat my bag on the floor by the door and headed to the kitchen.

"Hi Astrid." Mom said and hugged me tightly.

Time Hop/Skip

"Zac, I'm telling you, something's up!" I tell him for the third time.

"Dude, maybe they had a hard day at work." Zac suggested.

"Mom hugged me as if I was gonna just vanish from the Galaxy. Something is up! You said your parents are acting different too. They know something we don't." I exclaimed with slight panic.

"Astrid. Why don't you just ask? If it's something that involves you you have the rights to know." He said.

"Okay, only if you do the same." I bargained.

"Deal." He agreed. "I got to go. See you tomorrow at school. Bye." He said.

"Bye." I said and ended the call. Okay let's get this over with. I hopped out of bed and walked to my parents room.

"Mom, Dad can I come in. I need to ask you something." I called.

"Yes, come on in." Dad answered. I walked in to find them both laying down on the bed above the comforter.

"What did you need to ask?" Mom asked. I sat at the end of the bed between my parents.

"What is going on that you aren't telling me? You both have been acting weird today. It has me worried and freaked out." I explained. They both looked at each other then to me.

"It's nothing, Sweetheart." Dad excused. I crossed my arms and gave him the I-know-you're-lying-so-just-say-it look, that I see Mom do all the time when Dad is quote on quote 'in trouble'.

"Hun, do you have any idea why Thrawn was at your school today?" Mom asked.

"To pick the next kids he wants in the academy." I answered.

"Did you make yourself known?" Dad asked.

"No. Me and Zac both kept a low profile." I told them, while having a feeling where this was headed.

"Thrawn wants you at the academy. He said your physical abilities were impressive." Mom said. He had cameras! He saw me during all of gym class! And Zac!

"Mom, Dad. I'll be okay. I swear." I told them while we all hugged.
