Ezra was gone at work and I was trying to get Astrid to wake up for her first day at school. It was about 0600 (6:00 AM) and she was not liking how early it was.
"Astrid, come on baby. It's time to wake up." I told her.
"No, it's not." Astrid wined.
"Come on, you have to get ready for school." I told her.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No." Astrid said then crawled under all of her blankets, pillows and stuffed animals.
"Don't you want to meet friends?" I persuaded. She stayed quiet for a few minutes.
"Why?" She questioned poking her head out of the blankets.
"So you can play with other kids your age." I explained.
"But I can play with you and daddy." She said. She now had the blankets and such; down at her waist. I quickly swooped her up and grabbed her clothes for school. "Hey! No fair!" She wined.
"You have to go to school, hun." I told her softly. She gave me a pouty lip and huffed, causing me to giggle. I sent her into the bathroom to get dressed while I made her breakfast and packed her lunch. She came into the dining room and sat down, then I set a plate of space waffles in front of her she ate while I grabbed her backpack that was; white with a beautiful pink and yellow floral design. She put her plate in the kitchen then skipped over to me. I had her wear a purple short sleeve, blue jeans and white converses. She grabbed her book bag then ran to the speeder. I locked the door and went to the speeder. When I got in Astrid was already buckled up. We drove to the school and I stopped the speeder and helped her out. She stood still with her eyebrows furrowed.
"You okay?" I asked.
"I guess. Will you pick me up after school?" Astrid asked.
"Of course. It will be either me or dad." I told her. She took a deep breath and hugged me.
"See you after school." She said.
"Okay, bye sweetie." I told her. She walk towards the school's entrance and I was gonna watch till she got inside the door. I noticed a boy running to the school. He seemed around Astrid's age. He looked behind him to wave bye to his parents then when he looked in front of him and ran into Astrid.
Astrid's POV
I was walking into the school when I looked behind me there was someone who ran into me and pushed me to the ground. I looked over at whoever ran into me and saw it was a boy with dark brown hair and blue eyes. He was kinda cute. He groaned and looked at me, we locked eyes for a short moment.
"Sorry about that." He said standing up and offering me a hand. I grabbed it and got up. We picked up our stuff.
"It's okay. I'm Astrid." I introduced.
"I'm Zak." He said.
"It's nice to meet you. What grade are you in?" I asked.
"I'm starting kindergarten today. You?" He asked sweetly.
"I start kindergarten today too." I said.
"Cool!" He cheered. ____________________________
