      Astrid's POV

School. You got to love it. I was a good student. I never had been sent to the principal's office or gotten in trouble with my teachers. Mostly because of Zac. He kept me in line and made sure I knew my place. He also lets me know when to shut my mouth. And, when I need to walk away from something. I have no clue what I would do if he wasn't there and I got worked up. Maybe, I'd kill somebody? Or injure them badly? I'm not really sure to be honest. I do know I'm grateful for him.

"So I feel we should treat ourselves to ice cream at lunch, figuring we are the star cadets at the academy. Record time on the well other than my father and mother's back from their cadet days, best fighters in our age division, and we do it all in style." I said clinging to Zac's arm.

"Yeah, why not? But, what so special about being a star cadet. We get a lot more dirty looks than normal now. Especially from Kathryn." Zac said.

"Who cares? Especially when it comes to snobby rich girl Kathryn?" I quizzed. Now before you judge, let me introduce Kathryn Mase. She's a diva that only cares about herself, her dad spoils her rotten and not in a good way, she's rich because her dad's a senator, she hates me, used to and still does have a crush on Zac, and makes me miserable. She is also an academy student. She tried to rip apart me and Zac's friendship a few years back, but back to the point, I hate her she hates me. That's our system.

"Come on she's not that bad." Zac laughed.

"You say that about almost everyone! Wait! Do you like her?" I freaked.

"What?! No! Of course not! She's not my type so to speak." He said innocently. This is another adorable thing about Zac, he's soooo innocent! I love it!

"Hey I'm going to go grab my lunch money, I'll meet you there." I told him.

      Bebe time skip

I was walking down the halls to the lunch room but was stopped by Kathryn.

"Excuse me I need to get back to Zac, could you move? I would appreciate it dearly." I said with mock sweetness.

"I should be bossing you around." She hissed.

"Excuse me?" I scoffed.

"After all, you are a twi'lek. Aren't your kind used for slaves now? I mean a lot of the slave population is your species. So technically you should answer to me." She chuckled.

"First of all, I am not a slave, you are being extremely racist to my people, and I will never be any servant of yours." I growled shoving her against the wall.

"What about your parents and family? Last time I checked Lord Ezra and Admiral Sabine were human not twi'lek. So you are adopted, a meant to be slave, your birth mother abandoned you. How pitiful? I would say I feel bad for you but...ha! I don't!" She spat wickedly, while pushing me into the lockers.

I was more than angery, I was furious! I punched her as hard as I could in the face. More kids arrived to watch the fight. We both got some good hits on each other but I was better. Our noses and lips were bleeding and we were both bruised. But I had a weakness. She grabbed my head and slammed it against the lockers and I screamed out as it hit my leku.

"ASTRID!" I heard Zac scream. Black spots were all over the place and I could barely see Zac. My whole body was shaking, twitching and felt like I was having a spasm of some sort.

And that was the last thing I remember...
