No words could describe Rose's poor body. It was swathed in crimson blood and she was shaking uncontrollably.
Newt went to her side, where she whispered her last few, rushed words: "Pull that face Newt." He looked confused. She was talking gibberish. "That's my boy." And her eyes glued shut.
Newt's face was frozen. What had she meant? I knew that was what he was asking himself. Teresa tugged on my arm. "Let's leave him with her for a bit. We can come back later." I agreed as I knew how much Rose liked Newt and vice, versa. We were walking back when I heard Newt say,
"It's always the prettiest flowers that get picked." Then he sighed and held her hand, tightly, as though he was scared that she might be taken away from him.
Safely away from everything, Teresa grabbed me and kissed me. It wasn't as rushed as before, but I had to tug myself away. "Why did you do that?" I asked her.
"Because you're stressed, sad and lonely. I'm just trying to change that." Then I let her kiss me. And I kissed back.
