With another. Louis

I made it down to his house. "Hey Louis." I called through the house.

"Y/N, hey long time no see." he came in from the kitchen, "How is school treating you?"

"Ripping me apart and spitting me out. How is your plans treating you?" I laughed watching him try and practice proposing.

"Ripping me apart and spitting me out." he said with a laugh.

"Why if you love her it can't be that hard?" I asked going to his fridge for a lemonade.

"I love her but what if in a couple years I regret it?" he asked putting the ring on the table.

"If you're having second thoughts don't do it.'' I looked at the ring, "And that ring is just to much."

"Yeah well she likes flashy so yeah it really is for her." he looked at the ring and sighed, "I know I love her and we have been together for almost 2 years so it would be time but I am not sure i am in love with her." He confesses.

"Then why are you with her?" I asked and after awhile of him just sitting there staring at the ring, "Have you ever been in love with someone else?''

We sat there neither of us going anything, "Lets go return this ring." was all he said, like he was trying to avoid my questions.

"So you going to break up with her?" I asked climbing into his truck.

"Yes, like before I don't know why I am with her anymore. I love her but its not like a relationship kind of love." he drove towards the mall.

"But have you ever been in love before?" I asked again.

This time he stared at the road leaning into the door, "Yes and I love her more then I could ever see loving anyone else."

Love, not loved, "You're in love with another girl? Then why would you consider marrying another girl?"

"I don't know." He sat there staring at the road before pulling into the lot.

"You went to Jared!" I faked enthusiasm causing him to laugh.

"Yes." he laughed along, "Now let's get rid of this ring then to get rid of the girlfriend." he said with a fake evil laugh.

I followed him into the store stopping to look at some of the necklaces, "Louuuuis," I called after him, "You should buy me a necklace with the money from returning the ring."

He laughed before he grabbed my hand and lead me to the return desk, "How can I help you?" a man by the name of Scott asked.

"I would like to return this ring." Lou said putting the box on the counter.

Scott gave a weird look, "Okay. And I don't mean to sound rude but if she said no why are you still together?"

I laughed at his question, "Oh we aren't dating. He was going to propose to a girl he is not in love with."

He got a look on his face like he has seen it before, "Well then exchange or return?"

"Exchange. I also need to see the diamond heart necklace." Louis said Storting over to the case.

Later-

As we drove into his parking lot we recognized Eleanor's car. "It's now or never. I'll let you take care of this on your own." I stayed in the car as he walked inside.

Louis POV~

I loved her but its not enough. I am just not in love.... with Eleanor. Like Y/N said I am in love but I can't do anything about it, she is perfect in every way and even when I was not with Eleanor she still was not into me. I guess I was barking up the wrong tree. I thought maybe Eleanor could help me forget about it, wrong again.

"Hey Eleanor, what are you doing here?" I asked avoiding her eyes and lips and kissing cheek instead.

I watched as she pouted slightly before sitting down, "Saw you earlier and I just thought, Louis. So I came here."

Oh shit. The only time I have left today was the jewelry store with Y/N, "Well I have been thinking that I need to talk to you."

"Good thing I am here." she said with a bunch of enthusiasm. If only she knew.

Now or never, "Yeah it is. The only way to say this is its over."

"Over? Like breaking up, no longer together?" she said quickly changing to a frown. "But I saw you at the jewelry store with a bag.... Not for me. Y/N?"

I wish I would be engaged to Y/N, "Well no, but yes... Not in the way you're thinking. it is just, well umm, you see, it kinda goes like-"

Her laughter pulls me out of my thoughts, "You kinda love her, but you are also to chicken to tell her the truth that you do. But why did you go to Jared if you breaking up with me?"

To save myself the embarrassment of the stutter mess I just was, "Y/N."

"It's love."

Your POV~

Eleanor and Louis walked out together, no fighting just a friendly good bye. Eleanor even waved to me before she got into her car and drove away. Louis waited at the door for me with the same nervous look he had when he was practicing his proposal.

"So what happened?" I asked pulling back into his place when I was inside.

He avoided my face, "She was okay with it. She kinda had her own ideas on why it was over."

"So what you gonna do with your new freedom? I mean you're a single attractive man li-" he was kissing me. Louis, my best friend, was kissing me. And I was not stopping it.

This went on for a few minutes, I had to be the one to pull away, "So that happened." was the first thing he said while i tried to catch my breathe, "You can kind of tell what happened with Eleanor?"

"She was okay with you liking someone else?"

He laughed, "Well you see, like I said earlier I love someone who is not her." Love, love, he loves me? "I mean I know that we are not even dating but I love you anyway. And I want to give us a shot."

"Is that your way of hinting that you want me to be your girlfriend? If it is then yes."
