A/N- _dancingislife_ coz I asked a question awhile ago and she was the only one to answer. So for the first time a josh Devine imagine.

"My friend Y/N will take care of you right over there." Josh said leading a young man to my counter.

My friend, just that a friend. Nothing more. I watched him walk away knowing that he was not mine. "So what can I do for you sir?"

"I would like to see that guitar please." he said pointing to an acoustic that had a girly pink heart on it.

I pulled it out and let him see it, "Is it for anyone in particular?"

"My girlfriend."

Love everyone had love. I bet Josh even had a girlfriend. And yet he was still all I wanted.

I rung the man up and months pasted of the same. Even though he was single he still was not mine. All I ever was was a friend. And I was learning to coupe with that.

"Y/N, heard through the grape vine that you need a place to stay." I turned around to see a familiar face.

I leaned against the counter opposite from him and crossed my arms, "Yeah I do. You know a place?"

"Yeah I need help paying half the rent at my flat. If you live with me that would help us both."

Yeah not really, "Yeah sure. When can I move in?"

"I'll show you the house today after work. don't worry I'll give you a ride."

Again I watched him walk away. As much as I wanted to date him I also needed a place to stay and he was the only one offering.

I moved in and settled in. Still in love with him and he still had no idea. We hung out alone most the time and had gotten so close at times you would think we were dating, sadly not the case.

"Y/N, why are you still single?" I heard Josh ask as he saw that I was watching the notebook.

"I don't know. Why do you ask?" I made room for him on the couch.

"Because it is always me and you alone. I know why I am single, but as much as love spending time with you I don't want you to feel like you have to."

"Oh well it's fine." nope the only reason I am single is because I love you but you don't see it and time with you is time with you, "I actually like spending time with you."

He smiled and looked back at the T.V. "I like spending time with you too."

I have known him over a year, been living with him for 6 months. And he still had no idea how I really felt. Everyday felt like a year.

"Y/N!" I heard someone yell my name as I walked into the store ready to start my shift.

"Yeah?" who was yelling for me?

Josh came up ahead of me and pulled me into the break room, "Don't go out there, just yet."

"Why?"

He motioned for me to stay while he checked out the door, "My brother is here."

"So?" we might live together but I don't know who that is.

"He may try and tell you something's you don't need to know." he shut the door again and sat down.

I stared at him while he sat there checking outside every now and then, "So why don't you tell me-"

He laughed but it sounded almost forced, "No it is really nothing but embarrassing stuff he has to say to you since we live together."
