I'm not crazy. I'm not. I didn't kill him. I didn't. Why doesn't anyone believe me? Why doesn't he believe me? He hates me now. He doesn't believe me and now he can't even look at me without fear in his eyes. He's scared of me but I didn't do anything. I didn't.
Mitch Grassi was a part of the five person acapella group named Pentatonix and the duo Superfruit. He grew up in Arlington Texas with his two best friends Scott Hoying and Kirstin Maldonado. The trio then met up with an Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola forming their group and winning the reality show the Sing off in 2011.
They created a name for themselves winning platinum albums and three Grammys by the beginning of 2017. They toured around the world and were happy as could be until October 25th, 2017.
They were on break from tour and Mitch wanted to spend his time with his boyfriend Jacob after being away from him for so long. Jacob was a photographer and he found out about this old abandoned Asylum he had read about, located on the outskirts of L.A.
Mitch was usually not the one to explore abandoned places. He preferred the loud music, strong alcoholic beverages, and the dancing scene. But Mitch did miss his boyfriend so he reluctantly agreed to go with him to abandoned asylum.
No one truly knows what exactly happened at the asylum but there are firm believers on both sides. Scott, Mitch's best friend, had left dozens of messages and phone calls on his best friends phone, when Mitch failed to return home with Jacob to their little party they had planned a few weeks before, but never got a reply.
Knowing Mitch probably wasn't looking at his phone or his phone had probably died, he called Jacob but again was met with no reply.
Scott grabbed his phone and keys from the counter and started to leave when his friend Todrick stopped him a drink in hand. He was obviously drunk and was swaying with the loud music playing throughout the house.
"Where yuh goin' Scottie?" he shouted to be heard above the music.
"I'm gonna go find Mitch, he's not answering his phone." Scott yelled back and Todrick snorted.
"He's with Jacob! Let them be!" he yelled and proceeded to the dance floor to dance among other drunk friends. Scott considered dropping it and returning to his party to have fun but he couldn't scratch the feeling that there was something wrong.
He left the house and pulled up directions to the old asylum he heard them talking about that morning before he left. He found it relatively easy and it only took him about a half an hour to get there.
He pulled up to it and immediately felt an uneasiness in his stomach. He turned on his phone flashlight getting out of the car so that he could find his way through the darkness. He walked up to the old building that looked as if it could crumble at any second.
The white paint job was now a dirty gray color after years and years of abandonment. There were thick vines wrapped around the building like a cage. Scott wanted to get out of there as soon as he could as the uneasiness in his stomach got worse as he walked closer to the building.
The light shined showing the dirt and cob webs that lined the corners of the cement floors. He walked through old hallways until he turned a corner to a large room probably a common room or something. He stopped in the doorway when his light flashed over what looked like two people.
One person was sitting on top of the other while the other layed on the ground motionless. He took a few steps closer revealing that the man on top was in fact Mitch. "Mitch?" he called as he walked closer but the brunette ignored him.
As he got closer he saw that Mitch's hands were covered in blood and he was holding a broken piece of wood. He was stabbing Jacob's abdomen in the same spot over and over again. "Mitch! What the hell are you doing!?" Scott screamed dropping his phone.
By then though his eyes had adjusted to the darkness. He could see that Mitch was rocking and shaking with each stab. "Mitch stop! What are you doing!?" Scott screamed grabbing his shoulders.
Mitch pulled back against him and started to scream, "It's gonna kill me! I have to kill it!" he had tears running down his cheeks and blood coming from his swollen nose.
He tried to start stabbing him again but Scott grabbed the end of the bloody stake. Mitch pulled back screaming at him to give it back. Scott wouldn't though and Mitch was panicking. Mitch pushed the stake forward driving it into Scott's abdomen.
Scott gasped and stared at his best friend with wide eyes. "Mitch!?" he groaned falling back on his knees. Mitch's once clouded eyes cleared up and he took his hands away from the stake.
Scott fell back onto his back as the piercing pain in his abdomen started to throb. "Scott!" Mitch screamed crawling off of Jacob's body over to Scott. Mitch started to sob realizing what he had done, "Oh my god, Scott! Can you hear me!?" he started panicking and shaking even worse than he was before.
He felt around the floor for his phone finding Scott's instead. He picked it up dialing 911 as fast as he could. He told them where they were and told them to hurry. "Please, please. I'm so sorry. Scott please!" he sobbed crawling over to Scott.
Scott stared at him with wide eyes blood dripping from his mouth, "Why?" he whispered almost inaudibly. Mitch was sobbing and running his shaking hands through his hair.
"I don't know! I don't know! I didn't know it was you! It wasn't you! You weren't here! It was a monster! Scott please! No, no, no, stay with me!" he sobbed as Scott's eyes started to droop and roll in the back of his head.
"God, please someone help!" he screamed, his voice echoing through the building.
