"Mitch I swear to god." I said in a serious tone to show that I was dead serious about this.
He took a couple steps toward the door and out his hand on the knob. "I'll be fine Scott, it's just a little storm besides I can take care of myself."
"I'm not saying you can't it's just-" he cuts me off as I take a step towards him.
"That's exactly what you're saying! You always treat me like I'm fragile! I can go to fucking Starbucks without you in my shadow!"
"You are fragile! I don't want you to get stuck in the storm and come home sick or hurt so please just stay home!"
"I'm not some glass sculpture Scott. I'm not just gonna break at the tiniest thing. I can't handle going to Starbucks in some rain."
"It's more than rain Mitch can't you hear it!?" I yelled and he opened the door.
"No I can't hear it over you yelling at me! Wait I can almost hear it..." He stretched his head out the door acting like he couldn't hear the wind.
"Mitch! Get back inside now!" I yelled but he just rolled his eyes.
"You can't tell me what to do. You don't own me." I stepped closer and looked him in the eye.
"You walk out that door...I will never speak to you again." I know I was being dramatic but I really didn't want him out there.
He rolled his eyes and put one foot out, "oh really... Hoying you'll break that promise the second I get back."
He put another door out but the door was still open, "Mitch, please." I begged him but he just slammed the door and yelled from outside.
"Fuck you Scott! I'm not a baby! I can do things myself!" I ran my hand angrily through my hair as I heard the car drive off.
I took a deep breath telling myself that nothing was going to happen and that everything was gonna be okay.
Ten minutes I walked into the kitchen to get some water when my phone rang on the counter. I walked over picking it up seeing that was Mitch.
"You called? You know I'm keeping my promise why'd you call me? You get stuck outside of Starbucks because it was too windy." I asked rolling my eyes.
"Is this Scott Hoying?" I heard a women ask and my heart dropped. I dropped my water bottle on the ground.
"Yes this is him." I said with a shaky voice.
"We regret to inform you that Mr. Mitch Grassi has been in a car accident. There was head on collision and the other driver who had been drinking passed away in the ambulance."
I started hyperventilating but I kept my grip on the counter to stable myself enough to to hear her tell me the hospital.
Before I ended the call she said, "sir, Mitch is fine he just has a minor concussion and a few scratches. He is incredibly lucky."
I started to calm down a little bit and I ran out the door with my keys. I sped to the hospital and found Mitch sitting at the edge of the bed ready to get off. He had a bandage on his right side of his forehead but other than that he looked fine.
I helped him off the bed even though I probably didn't mean to. "I'm sorry." He immediately said to me when he realized it was me but I ignored him and the nurse told me the things I needed to to for the cut on his forehead.
"As for the concussion, just rest your head and don't read too much." I nodded but Mitch laughed a little.
"That won't be a problem." Normally I would've laughed at his silly comment but I was too angry at him that I didn't. I thanked the nurse and took Mitch to the car.
We started to drive and that's when Mitch really noticed I was angry.
"I know you're mad." He said but I just stared at the rode.
"Are you really not going to talk to me ever again?" He asked I shook my head angrily.
"I'm not talking because if I do, I will yell and you've been through enough today." I said pulling into our driveway.
I went around to open his door but he opened it and glared at me, "I can do it myself."
I put hands up for surrender then dropped them angrily and left him outside in the rain. I left the door opened and went into the kitchen picking up the water bottle I dropped.
I'm so stupid for letting him out there.
This never would've happened if I stopped him.
It's my fault.
I gritted my teeth and ran my hands engross through my hair. The front door closed and Mitch came inside. He flopped down on the couch and sighed.
He turned on the tv and started watching spongebob as per usual. I sat myself down on the other couch and just scrolled through Twitter I didn't want to be there but I needed to keep my eye on him.
After about twenty minutes the tv goes black and I glance up at him to see he was staring at me.
"Okay I know you're mad at me. Just get it all out now and yell at me so we can cuddle."
(Mitch's POV)
I was sick of him ignoring me and I really just wanted to lay in his chest after what happened. But alas he's mad at me.
"Okay I know you're mad at me. So just get it all out now and yell at me so we can cuddle." I said with a light tone after I turned the tv off trying get him to talk to me.
He shook his head locking his phone and getting up off the couch to leave the living room. I followed him as we walked i said, "Scott please just yell at me! You're bottling up your anger and I really want you to talk to me."
"I'm not going to yell at you Mitch. You're fine I'm fine." He said walking into the kitchen.
I could tell he wasn't fine, "you're not fine you're mad at me. Yell at me I can take it."
"I'm not going to yell at you." He said plainly leaning on the counter behind him.
"I can take it. Do it. You need it." I said taking a step closer in his direction.
"Mitch give it up. I'm not gonna yell at you." He said shrugging.
"It's your fault." I said testing him. His jaw clenched and I knew it was working. "You could've stopped all this but you didn't. It's your fault!" I said raising my voice but hating the words I was saying.
He closed his eyes tightly and he took a shaky breath. I continued, "you could've done something! It's your fault!" I yelled and he lost it he stood up.
"I KNOW! I know it's my fault! I knew something was gonna happen! I could feel it but I still let you out there! I almost lost the only important thing in my life because I didn't got after you or go with you or stop you!"
I couldn't listen to him anymore, "it's not your fault! I was just saying that you so you would yell at me but please do not think it's your fault! it's not!"
"But it is Mitch!-" I cut him off stepping closer.
"No! Shut up! Stop blaming yourself like a baby! You're mad at me too! I know you are so yell at me! Me! The fucking idiot who went driving in the middle of a terrible storm! Me! Yell at me!" Scott shook his head, "please."
"Fine! You want me to yell at you!? I fucking told you! You were being all sarcastic like it was just a game to you while I was worried that you might get hurt and guess what? YOU DID! You almost-" he looked away and covered his mouth with the back of his hand with tears in his eyes.
I walked closer to him and he put his hands on my cheeks pulling me only inches from his face.
"You almost died. I thought you were..." He couldn't say it, "she told me that the other guy died and I started hyperventilating...Mitch if you..."
I wrapped my arms around him and buried my head in his neck, "I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere." I whispered.
He rose my shin up and looked me in the eyes, "you were so inconsiderate. You were so careless." He moved his lips to my neck and kissed it softly.
"I thought I was never going to get to kiss you." He kissed again and leaned me against the counter. I let my eyes flutter close intoxicated by his touch.
"I thought I was never going to be able to tell you." Kiss.
"I thought I was never going to hear your perfect voice." Kiss.
"I was never going to see your perfect face." Kiss. He was slowly making his way around my neck.
"Your body." Kiss.
"I don't know what I would've done," he whispered in my ear before moving his head so that we were literally less than an inch away from mine. I could feel his breath on my lips and I couldn't take it anymore.
I smashed my lips to his wrapping my arms around his neck. He immediately put a hand on my lower back and the other on my upper back. Our lips moved in sink for what seemed like forever when he pulled away. With our eyes still closed he whispered breathlessly, "I'm in love you."
I smiled and gave him a sweet peck and whispered, "good cus I've been in love with you for a long time." He chuckled and kissed me passionately again.
