29. Distracted

Tao's POV

The first half is almost done.

The score is now 29:35 in favor of our team. I had this opportunity to score for two consecutive 3 points that we managed to have 6 points more.

"15 seconds to shoot." Suho's voice echoing in the gym. Everyone is shouting. "Lay steals, passed the ball to Kai, fakes a shoot, unexpectedly passed to Kris.. 3 seconds.. SHOOT!!! 3 POINTS!!"

Argh! I screamed in my head.

But what is more disappointing is..

..seeing Chorong stand on her feet, clapping her hands and screaming for joy.

Since when did Kris get a hold of her?

Wasn't it that...

she used to cheer for me?

she used to be happy for me?

those claps are for me?

I managed to get all those points..

why didn't I see her jump and smile like that?

No.

I went after her to win.

Not to lose like this.

I admit it.

I fell for her.

"Tao, are you listening?!" my coach's voice. I didn't realize I was spacing out already.

"Sorry, coach." I answered.

I gave Chorong another glimpse. She is now seated and talking to her friends.

Two minutes left before the end of the game.

The score is 77:79 in favor of our team.

Zelo was a big help during the third quarter. I wasn't able to score since the start of the second half.

I tried my best but I'm so distracted. Everytime Kris gets a point, I feel that she is happy though she doesn't show it.

"Tao with the ball. Shoots! Too bad!"

Everytime I get a grab of the ball, it always end up not in the basket.

"What's happening to you, man?" asked Henry Hyung in English then he pats my back. "Concentrate."

"Luhan steals. The nonstoppable forward. Yokshi Luhan! Shoots!" Suho's voice.

Frustrating.

I can't score.
