Chapter 42

Alice's Pov:

I feel numb, I can't feel anything. I want to cry but my body wont let me. I watch as Dmitri untied Cecilia but still pointing his gun at me the whole time. When she's free from the bounds she jumps and hugs Adriano tightly. I just stare at him feeling betrayed, he looks at me with pity. Pity? I don't need his pity. I don't need him.
"Adriano! I missed you so much" Cecilia says while hugging him
"I-I missed you too" he says but not hugging her back. Why? Isn't he happy he got what he wanted. Even though she's fake, he doesn't know that. He should be happy he has an Angela even if it's a fake one I guess.
"Wise choice Adriano. I'm letting you go with her for now" Dmitri states
"Yeah thank's, what's going to happen to her?" Adriano says pointing at me.
Dmitri smirks and laughs "Well it would be a waste to kill this beauty. She will marry Nick"
Adriano looked calm but I saw him clench his jaw.
"Congratulations Alice. I hope your happy with Nick as I am going to be happy with Angela" he grits through his teeth
I don't answer him and stare blankly at him. But decide to say something "Adriano I wish you happiness" I say sadly. He looks hurt by my comment, does he not realize I'm the one hurting here? Adriano leaves with Angela and I'm here with Dmitri. He unties me
"Tomorrow you will marry my brother Nicholas, You will be his wife and obey him. Welcome to the Family Alice Mckenzie or should I say Alice Ivanov" he laughs

After I'm untied he takes me to a room where I saw Nick sitting on a bed. When he saw me he immediately got up.
"I'm sorry" he says
"I don't know why you want me to marry you" I try my best not to cry
"It was the only option to keep you alive, you heard Dmitri's options. He would've shot you right there in that room when Adriano picked Cecilia" he tried to convince me
"He should've shot me. The guy I love is going to marry your sister" I cry into my palms
"Hey hey don't worry. Have trust in Adriano, he has a plan I'm pretty sure. He loves you so much Alice" he says while patting my back
"Then why did he pick her?!" I snap
"I told you he has a plan" he says as he pats my back yeah right a plan.
"Nick please don't get my hopes up, it will hurt more when I fall"
"Alice-" but I stop him from talking by shaking my head.
"Okay you need time alone, I'll come back and bring you food" he says and gets up to the door.

I hear the door close and I just stare at the ceiling. He picked her, he doesn't love me. Tomorrow I will have to marry Nick. Oh god I'm marrying Nick, I'm marrying him tomorrow. My life is just a big mess, the guy I love doesn't love me the worst part is he played me, I'm marrying someone who I don't love and my parents... I need to ask Nick about that. Why is my life so fucked up? Did I do something so horrible that this had to happen? I lay down and close my eyes to not feel the pain. I don't want to feel pain anymore, i close my eyes and let the darkness consume me.

I wake up and I'm wearing a dress, a white dress. My face was dolled up, my hair was in an updo. I'm alone in the room. I get curious so i get up and open the door.

I'm blinded by the sunshine and everything was beautiful. Flowers were everywhere, trees, the smell of freshly cut grass fills my nostrils. I start to walk but then someone besides me stops me.
"Are you ready my beautiful baby girl?" He says
I look besides me and it's Dante Adamo who is holding my arm. Why is he here? But for some reason I nod. He walks me down to an arch where I see a figure of a man. He is not facing us, we walk closer and closer.

I was shocked, it was Adriano. Why oh why is he here?! He was wearing a suit and a bow tie. He smiles at me and I just stare him in confusion. Suddenly we hear a voice
"Do you Adriano J. Moretti take Angela Marie Adamo as your wedded wife?"
WHAT THE FUCK?! I'm at his wedding?! Oh god! Why is fate so cruel! Wait aren't I supposed to be sitting somewhere in the crowd? Why am I facing him?!
"I do" he smiles while taking my hands
"Do you Angela Marie Adamo take Adriano J. Moretti as your lawfully wedded husband to love and to cherish for the rest of your lives?"
Why is mine longer? WAIT! I'm not even Angela!
"I'm not Angela....but I do love you Adriano. But I am not Angela" I wish I was her...
