Chapter 45

Alice's Pov:

Opening my eyes to the cold hard ceiling isn't exactly an ideal morning but that's what we do everyday I guess or maybe it's just me. I sit up and turn my head then see Nick sleeping on the ground. Oh my why is he there? I shouldn't be sleeping on the bed, he should. He must be really tired and stressed.

I get out of bed and feel the need to go to the bathroom so I walk slowly to the bathroom and well mother nature. When I'm done I walk outside and still see Nick sleeping, I shouldn't bother him. I walk to the door and open it, there were I so many guards guarding my door. I look up to one of them and smile at him but his face was hard. Well how rude.
"Excuse me where's the kitchen?" I ask him
"Why? You aren't supposed to leave this room without Nicholas" He tells me
"Oh...um I want to cook some food for breakfast maybe I can make you some waffles? Or pancakes? Eggs? Bacon? Steak? I don't know maybe mashed potatoes? Cereal? Something?" I try to persuade him
"Bacons and eggs. Crispy, sunny side with 2 pieces of toast" he says coldly and kindly shows me the kitchen. I thank him when we are at he kitchen, I tie my hair up and start to cook. I get bacon, eggs, the flour, sugar and the bread. Okay time to cook.

After everything is cooked, I make the guard a plate and I also made him pancakes. Oh! I forgot the syrup I turn to the cabinets and the syrup was really hard to reach. I wonder why everyone has so high cabinets? Or am I just short? But I'm not that short, am I? Okay enough with questions time to get the syrup Alice. I reach further and further but suddenly another hand reached for it.

I turn and my eye's widen, I gulp in fear. I look down and not looking into his eyes. I can feel him smirking at me. He hands me the syrup and I don't move.
"What's the matter princess? Why won't you look at  me?" He says with the syrup still in his hand gesturing me to take it.
"Here you seem too short to get it so I got it for you" His voice made me shiver in fear. God help me
"You know you are really are a pretty little thing, Nicholas is very lucky to have you" He cups my face so I can look at him.
"Still not talking beautiful? Okay okay here is your syrup. I'm not a bad guy, just a guy who does bad things"  that is literally the definition of a bad guy, stupid. I take the syrup from him and walk to the plates of food.
"Beautiful and she can cook, what a catch. You know, if I could marry you I would but alas he fell in love with you. Who am I to take his happiness"
"Still giving me the silent treatment?" I sense him walking closer and closer to me suddenly I'm pulled back and I'm facing him again but this time he held my arms forcefully.
"Listen here you little bitch. When I talk to you, you answer! Your only here because of him!" He raised his hand to slap me but we hear Nick shout
"СТОП(stop)" we hear him shout and he stops in mid air
"Well well well Nicky grew some balls. Standing up to his older brother, first for everything I guess" He chuckles
"Please Dmitri I'm sorry for raising my voice but please do not hurt my wife to be" Nick says
"Ah that's right Cecilia called you yesterday, your getting married on Saturday yes?" He smirks. Wait what? Saturday?! I look straight at Nick and he looks guilty
"Oh she didn't know? Okay well I'll leave, happy fighting you two" He walks out and leaves me with Nick in the kitchen alone.

He doesn't look at me and his face has guilt all over him.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"You were sleeping when she called me and um I didn't want to wake you" He says
"NICK! It's TOMORROW! How are we going to get out of this?!" I start to cry
"Hey hey don't cry Alice" he pats my back
"How am I not going to cry Nick? I'm getting married to you" I wipe my tears and just realized what I said. I cover my mouth instantly and look at him with shock, oh no!
"Am I that bad?" He looks at the floor
"Wait yes WAIT NO I MEAN NO! Oh god what I meant was your not bad your really nice and I-" I stop mid sentence when I hear him chuckle
"Alice I'm just messing with you" he chuckles while I pout
"Look I think I have a plan but I don't know if it will work"
"I'll try anything at this point Nick" I say desperately
"Tonight you will go with one of my trusted men and stay at one of my safe houses but you have to go in hiding until after the wedding and I'll tell them I killed you because I couldn't stand you" He says
"Ouch but how I supposed to get back to Adriano?" I ask him
"Well that I haven't thought about I could tell him but I don't want the risk of someone following him to the safe house. I want you safe Alice, I'm sorry" What? Adriano... I can't see him? Until when? Will I ever see him? This is going to be hard. Should I go with the plan or not?
"Alice it's up to you but I need to know as soon as possible" He tells me and I start to think about my decision.
"So my options are staying, marrying you but I can still see Adriano everyday?" He nods
"And the other one is to go into hiding from the world without anyone knowing I'm alive but I'm free?" I say
"Well I can probably tell Adriano and he should come up with a plan but I think it's best he doesn't know because when he finds out your dead he would go on a rampage and kill every single Ivanov including Cecilia" He tells me, wait every Ivanov? Does that mean?
"Wait hold up, every Ivanov? But that means..." I feel guilt starting to eat inside me, my stomach churns making me feel ill by the thought of Nick dying because of me. I can't be selfish...maybe..There has to be another way.
"No, I'm not letting you die for something stupid! I will get married to you. An innocent life can't be taken because of me. I don't ever want that to happen to anyone" I tell him
"Are you sure? I don't mind Alice, I can take care of myself-" I raise my hand signaling him to stop talking
"It's fine, I consider you someone very close to me Nick. You've done enough for me" I smile at him
"Are you sure Alice? You don't have to make the decision now, we can discuss this over lunch" He offers me but I decline.

I smile at him and ask him to eat the breakfast I made him. He sit's down and starts to eat, he gestured me to take a seat and eat with him so I did.
"This is great, you really can cook" he smiles at me and I smile back with pride
"Of course I can cook, I always cooked and baked with my mo- Martha...." I remember..that I'm not their child..
"Do you want to see your parents?" He asked me looking sad
"They aren't my parents but I would like to confront them about this issue. Let's pay them a visit" I tell him and he smiles
"Let's go after breakfast, get ready. I'll have the jet waiting for us after we eat" He says while slicing through the hot pancakes

After getting dressed and packing a few clothes if we stay there. Sitting on the bed waiting for Nick I hear a ding noise. I check my phone and it was Adriano, he texted me.
"Hey beautiful, going anywhere?"
"I'm going to pay my parents a visit with Nick" I text him and almost instantly I get a call. I pick it up
"Where are you going?! With who?! Alice he's an Ivanov! You can't be serious! You can't trust him!" He tells me and I suddenly feel angry at him.
"Adriano, Nick has been very kind to me these past few days! Don't go on telling me he can't be trusted!"
"Alice don't get on that plane with him! I swear you are going to be the death of me one of these day's"
"Adriano I love you but I am going to see my parents and you can't stop me. Tomorrow I am getting married to Nick, I need to tell them and I want to find out about something" I argue with him
"You won't be married to him, I promise you that. The only man you will ever marry is me. I will never let you be gone away from me again. Never ever, I miss you Alice" His voice starts to break
"I miss you too Adriano. Nick gave me an alternative but I turned it down, it would only result into more people dying. I don't want that to happen anymore"
"Alice...just don't go... I don't want anything to happen to you" He says
"Adriano nothing will happen, Nick is with me" I tell him and before he argues "I'm going to hang up now. I'll call you when I land" I hang up and walk out the room without any baggage because I only want to see them and leave.

Approaching Nick, then walking to the car. We have a very silent ride till the airport. When we arrive I get in and I see Adriano there. Oh...my...god.... what is he doing here?!
"ADRIANO! WHAT?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" I ask him
"I'm not letting you travel alone with him. I don't trust him" He tells me and gives Nick a deadly stare
"What? Adriano I'm more excited your here but you shouldn't be here. Cecilia might suspect and Nick is an Ivanov, for all we know one of his crew could tell Dmitri or god forbid Cecilia"
"I don't trust him with you, I told Cecilia I had to fly to Italy to finish some business anyways. We are going on my jet by the way to your parents" He says as he grabs my wrist and I pull it away
"Adriano! I'm not leaving if Nick is not going!" I stay in place
"Alice is right, my siblings might find out if you come with us. All though my men and staff is trustworthy I'm not taking any risks" He says
"I don't care! I don't trust you with her! You better stay away from her Nick!" Adriano yells at him
Nick rolls his eyes and I mentally giggle at his actions "Let's not fight anymore, I'm tired. We will take your jet to my parents but I want Nick to come"
"What? Why? He has no purpose to me" He says
"Adriano please don't be like this. I'm tired of what has been happening these past few days" I really am
A pang of guilt spread through his face and he straightened up. "Fine but... Nick you sit far away from her" Okay good, I feel like Adriano is not going to hate Nick anymore after this trip. We drive to his jet and we're off to my parents. Time to face them
