Sam P.O.V:

I am lying on my bed in the institue thinking about Alec. That is all I seem to do after that wonderful kiss, at least it's not weird between us, if anything things are better. Like an invisible bond was being repaired. I know we dated before I lost my memories but I keep wondering: How serious were we? Because I have all of these intense feelings for him that's driving me crazy. Groaning in frustrasion I sit up.

I jump in fright as I hear a knock on my door breaking the peaceful silence.

"Who is it?!" I question-yell to the person on the other side of the door.

"It's Izzie." Comes the answer and a smile lights up my face and I get up off the bed and start making my way to the door. Opening it I am met with serious looking Izzie. Sort of.

"Hey" She squeaks out looking at me with wide eyes.

"Hey, is everything ok?" I ask with concern in my voice because, where is the confident and badass Izzie we all love and know?

"Yeah, I mean Yes. I, uh, i wanted to ask you something?" She stutters out.

"Sure, what is it?"

"Can I come in? It's kind of personal and private?" She ask looking down fiddling with her hands, a tell of nervousness I picked up. Now I'm getting worried.

"Of course" I answer her, side stepping so she can enter my room. I walk back to my bed and sit down cross legged on the bed.

"Why don't you come and sit down and tell me what's got you so nervous." I tell her and she looks up smiling and a little less nervous. I return her smile.

"You my not have any memories but you're still the one that knows me best." She comments with a smile while sitting down on my bed.

"So...what's going on? What did you want to ask me?" I ask her again and the nervous Izzie returns.

"Well, uh, I, uh, wanted your advice on a pair of shoes." She says and I can clearly see it's a lie.

"Okay, well I can do that." I say nodding my head.

"Thanks" she says bummed.

"After you ask me the real question." I say looking at her with a stern expression. Sighing she shakes her head and looks down but not fast enough for me not to see the tears in her eyes.

"Hey, Iz what is it?" I ask her softly taking her one hand in mine as a sign of support.

"Nothing, it's stupid." She answers me in a whisper wiping away a tear with her free hand.

"It can't be stupid if you're crying over it." I say stubbornly, not giving up.

"Promise you won't laugh at me?" She asks me taking back her hand.

"I promise Iz." I promise her and she takes a deep breath.

"Will you be my parabatai again?" She breathes out so softly that I almost didn't catch it, but I did.

I just sit there staring at her with wide eyes. Not really believing that she would want me to be her parabatai even if I didn't remember her. Taking my silence as a bad sign she stands up and says:

"I told you it was a stupid idea. Now I wish I made you promise to say something because your silence is even worse than you laughing at me." And with that she spins around and walks out. I am only snapped out of my stunned, but happy daze by the door slamming shut.

I jump off my bed and I take of after her. I am running down the corridors, most likely looking like a crazy woman but I couldn't care less I needed to find her and set things right.

I reach the main room, out off breath, looking around looking for Izzie but I don't find her. As I turn around to go to her room a voice stops me in my tracks.

"Sam!" I hear the familiar voice of Alec calling me and butterflies erupt in my stomach. I spin around and spot him infront of a monitor a few meters away. I walk towards him and the closer I got the better I saw him. And boy, does he look good. Black t-shirt showing off his nice biceps, black pants, wet hair, indicating he had just taken a shower, oh I wonder how he looks nak-

"Hello, earth to Sam" I am cut off from my daydream by Alec waving a hand infront of my face. I look at him and blush as I remember what I had just thought about.

"And that blush? Where you having dirty thoughts about me?" He asks with a teasing smile and my cheeks go redder than they already are. Oh if only you new. Composing myself I answer him.

"In your dreams, Lightwood" I tease him back and a faint blush tints his cheeks.

"Only the sexy ones." He blurts out and the second he realizes what he said his cheeks inflame and his combat boots are suddenly the most interesting thing ever.

"I- i, uh, meant, uh-" he stutters and finally remembering why I was down here in the first place, I decide to save us both from more humiliation by interupting him.

"I was looking for Izzie, I was wondering if you could help me out." He looks at me with a relieved look and he nods.

"Sure, have you tried her room or the kitchen." He suggests.

"I doubt it, she was very upset."

"Why, what hap- She asked you to be her parabatai again but before you could say something she walked away, didn't she?" He figures it out and I nod.

"Yeah and I have no idea where to look."

"I do. Try the roof." He says and I look at him sceptically.

"The roof?" I ask, still eyeing him.

"Yeah she goes there to think and to be sad alone, you were always the only one she allowed up there with her without screaming them away or storming of somewhere else. So you want to find her, I'd say that's your best bet." He says and I nod at him.

"Thank you, Alec." I say sincerly and I hug him. Wrapping his arms around me as well he whispers an 'always' before pulling away.

"Go find her." He says and I smile at him.

°~°~°~°

After that talk with Alec, I immediately went looking for Izzie. Finding her on the roof, sitting on a bench sobbing. My heart pained at the sight. I stepped over to her, sat down and wrapped my arms around her.

"I'm so sorry Izzie, so sorry." I whisper to her. She pulls out of my embrace wiping her face.

"It's ok, I understand. You don't remember and can't be parabatai with someone you don't know them." She says sniffiling.

"That's not why I'm sorry." I say honestly.

"Don't sugercoat it." Izzie says with a sad huff.

"You know, I never said no." I say quietly.

"What?" She asked in a disbelieving yet, hopeful tone.

"I never said no. You just asumed." I stated.

"I-i just asumed your silence-" she starts but I cut her off.

"Exactly Iz, you assumed." I say a little more sternly than I meant to.

"So... Is that a yes?" She ask excitedly. Turning to face her, I see her wearing a grin so big I'm worried for a second that her face might split.

"Yes, Iz. I'll be honored to be your parabatai." I say with a grin matching hers.

The next moment Izzie releases a squeal so loud, which I am sure will forever leave me with impaired hearing.

***
