Sam P.O.V:

Age 10:

"I made a friend today." My brother older Jace told me as he climbed on my bed. We each had our own room but prefered to sleep near the other. It was our first day at the new insitute. My interest was peaked at his words.

"Who?" I questioned him, pretending not to be curious.

"His name is Alec." At the name, a smile forms on my face. It made me feel happy and warm inside.

"Is he nice?" I asked him as he layed down next to me. We turned on our sides and we looked at the other.

"Yes, he is." He replied with a grin, and I found myself smiling back. Slowly but surely, we fell asleep.

"Sammy, wake up!" I sit up, startled by the loud voice.

"What is it?" I asked grogily and slightly angry. I was having a good dream.

"I want you to meet my friend, Alec." My eyes flashes to my brother and I see a cute tan skinned boy with black hair standing next to him, he looks to be the same age as Jace. I look into his eyes and a smile forms on both of our faces. I get off the bed, nearly tripping over my own feet and I extend my hand to him with a shy smile.

"I'm Samara. But everyone calls me Sam." I introduce myself and when I shook Alec's hand, it shocked me a little but once it passed, I liked it.

"Nice to meet you, Samara." He tells me with a warm smile, still not letting go of my hand and I didn't mind one bit.

Age 13:

"I win." I call out victoriously and proudly as beat my brother in our hand- to- hand combat session once again. I sat on top of his back, both of his hands pinned behind his back.

"Okay, you can let me go now." He says, his voice coming out muffled because his face is pressed against the training floor. A hear a few laughs and chuckles because the unbeatable Jace Wayland, who is a sixteen- year- old, was just taken down by his thirteen-year-old sister. And, no, he didn't go easy on me, he just can't beat me. No one, except for Alec, can beat me and that's just because I don't want to hurt him. I've send a few people to the infirmary.

Speaking about Alec, these past three years we've been here, has been great and I really like Alec. Okay, so maybe like is the wrong word, try having a massive crush on him that is only growing day by day. I know he likes me too, but I don't know to what extent. I've asked Izzie about it and she says that she thinks that we're in love with each other but we're to young to be in love.

Right?

Changing the subject to Izzie through, we have become the best of friends and we tell each other everything. I even asked her to be my parabatai and she said yes but we have to wait until we're fourteen until we can

"Sammy!" Jace snapped me out of my thoughts, still immoblized below me.

"Oh, right. Sorry." I say as I let his hands go and I get up from me.

"Sam." A male voice calls out from behind me and I turn to the boy. He looks to be a little older than me but younger that Jace and Alec and he has a smile, one that reminds me of when Jace talks to girls, on his face.

"Yes." I say but if comes out more of a question.

"Would you like to go out with me?" He asks, taking a step closer to me, making me uncomfortable and I take a step back -bumping into a fimiliar chest and my eyes widen.
