Jushiro Ukitake x Self Harm! Reader

Story title: I'll protect you

Hey Nekos! I'm so sorry these one-shots are taking a while to get out. It's been the Easter break but I've spent the entire time actually having a break and also revising ~.~ I've already done some of them.... I'm probably going to fail the others
...EGHHHH. Let's not think about that and go onto the one-shot!  This was requested by @ichiruki-4-life   I hope you enjoy it!

Your pov

"Good morning Jushiro. How are you feeling?" You questioned the pale man as you entered his office. "Better now you're here." He smiled softly, making you blush. You had known this man for quite a while. You were originally in Squad 4 but with Jushiros health, you were placed in his squad to take care of him. You didn't like fighting but since you joined squad 13  you had learned some moves. Jushiro had recently started flirting with you which made you feel very...weird.

You obviously have feelings for the captain but at the same time, you were worried about getting into a relationship with someone, especially him. He was loved by many women and you didn't want to draw any attention to yourself. Besides, your last relationship was terrible.

"So (Y/N). How are you feeling today?" You were snapped out of your daze by your captain who was smiling at you. "I should be asking you that." You returned his smile and start making some tea. "No I'll do that (Y/N) don't worry about it." Jushiro said quickly moving towards you to make the tea himself. Humble as always... You thought in your mind. Teacups clattered against each other as his hand touched yours.

You instantly jolted back, knocking some of the boiling water onto yourself. "Ow!" You squeaked in pain. You looked up at Jushiros worried face. "I..I'm so sorry Captain!" You quickly apologised and held your hands above your head. "Why are you apologising (Y/N)? You're the one who got hurt." Captain Ukitake said and reached down to help you up. "NO DON'T TOUCH ME!" You screamed and ran. 

Jushiros pov

I watched with sad eyes as that beautiful girl ran from my office. I knew of her past, most of the captains do. She was slightly paranoid but no one could tell what was happening in her head. I want to get close to her. I want to know what she's thinking. I want her to be able to rely on me. I really like her. She's gorgeous. Rukia walked in, Ichigo following behind her. "Sir, where is (Y/N) running off to? She looked sad..." Rukia asked her faced full of concern. "Rukia do you know (Y/N)'s past?" She shook her head as I passed her and Ichigo some tea. "Around a year and a half ago, (Y/N) was in a relationship with a man from squad 11. He was a terrible man." I took a sip from my tea and continued the story.

"He physically and mentally abused her for a year before she told Unohana who was her Captain at the time. He lost his job at squad 11. Kenpachi refused to have a woman beater in his squad. He is now living in the Rukongai but there are people who still support him. They think he's still a good man." Ichigo growled in disgust. "A man like that should have been killed!" He shouted. "After losing his job, he returned to her home and beat her close to death. Luckily her younger brother, Hanataro, found her and got her the medical attention she needed. (Y/N) has since been diagnosed with slight paranoia." I finished speaking and both of them looked shocked.

"Rukia, Ichigo. She really needs some friends. Please try and be there for her."

{Time Skip} 2 days later

"Captain, you wanted to speak with m-me?" I heard that beautiful voice at the door and smiled. "Yes please come in and take a seat." She sat on the couch opposite the one I was sitting at.

"(Y/N) I wanted to talk with you because...well I think that maybe you just need someone to pour your feelings out too. And I know you may feel uncomfortable doing that but please remember I'm not just your captain, I'm also your friend." She looked at me with wide eyes before nodding. "Okay..I'll talk with you." She said and started to slowly talk about what he did to her when they were together and how bad it made her feel. She bowed her head down. "I just feel like everyone's going to hurt me..." A small tear fell from her eye. "(Y/N) No one wants to hurt you." I said calmly. "But they do..his friends and the girls who still like him...they..." She broke out into sobs that pained my heart. I got up and went next to her, being careful not to distress her in any way.

"Tell me what they do."

"They hit me just like he did."

My eyes went wide and I could feel the rage boiling in my body. They are terrible...horrible... 

Suddenly I felt my illness creep up on me and I started coughing up blood. It was way worse than any other coughing fit I'd had this year.

"Captain!" I heard (Y/N) scream over the sound of my coughs. She took action as fast as she could and started patting my back. After I stopped coughing she laid me down on the couch. My vision was slightly blurry from the tears that had formed whilst I was having the coughing fit.

(Y/N) looked around, worried. "What's wrong?" I managed to choke out. "There's nothing here for me to wipe the blood away with...Dammit I'll have to use this.."  She ripped some of her sleeve off of her shihakusho and started wiping the blood away from my mouth and used a different part to wipe the tears from my eyes.

As she gave me my medicine, I started to calm down and my vision came back properly. I looked at her and my eyes widened.

I could see scars trailing up her arm and disappearing under the part of her sleeve she hadn't ripped off.

She looked down at me and instantly knew what I had saw. "Jushiro I..." Tears were forming in her eyes. Those beautiful eyes that I couldn't stop looking at. Without any words I pulled her down into an embrace, making her squeal in shock. "(Y/N)...I will never let anyone hurt you again. I love you more then anyone and seeing you in this pain hurts me."

She looked at me, her cheeks held tears but her eyes held love. "I-I love you too...but...I was too scared to tell you. What if I mess up? What if you get bored of me? What about the other girls who like you? What abou-" I silenced her with a kiss. I could tell she was nervous at first but she soon calmed down and kissed back.

"I love every part of you." I pulled up her sleeves to reveal the may scars that littered her skin. I lent down and gently kissed them. "I love you."

"I love you too Jushiro. You're always so kind to me. Also.." There was a pause. "Thank you for asking Rukia and Ichigo to be there for me. Thanks to them I haven't been beaten up for two days. And for the first time in forever I actually have friends." She smiled.

"I'll protect you (Y/N). I'll always be here for you. I love you."

Yep I know that ended quite abruptly but I just need to get this out. I only have one mock left! My RS (Religious studies) mock. I couldn't give a shit about it but my parents do so ~.~ I've probably failed maths and I've screwed up with science 😂
I'm so shit. Anyway I'm so sorry updates have been agonisingly slow. >~< I'll try and speed them up!
