Story Title: You shouldn't have to ask
Hey guys! Before becoming Koro-sensei he was only known as The Reaper and so that's what I'll be referring to him as in this one-shot. This was requested by rayofpitchblack1 quite a while ago. Sorry it took so long!
"Hey Mister Reaper. You ready for another job?" (Y/N) looked over at the black-haired male, a wide smile on her face. The man in question turned around and gave that sly smile he always had on his face. "Of course I am." He tightened his bowtie and walked over to the girl, admiring the tight sweater she was wearing. She has to be doing that on purpose...
"I'll be waiting here then." She leaned up and planted a small kiss on his cheek, her face slightly flushed. He smiled back before rushing out to find his target. Another day, another assassination.
(Y/N) watched him go out onto the balcony and run off into the night, using the roofs of the buildings close to them to get around. They were staying in a very fancy hotel room with a large bed, a massive tv and a hot tub in the bathroom. The room oozed elegance and (Y/N) found herself in awe at the presentation. They had DEFINITELY stayed in worse hotels in the past. They were always on the move thanks to his job but (Y/N) didn't mind. It was fun and being with the reaper was enough for her.
(Y/N) decided to have a bath and poured herself a glass of the complimentary champagne that came with the room. I wonder why we didn't get a cheaper place? She let her mind wander as she turned off the taps to the bath and placed her champagne glass down. She giggled as she pressed the jacuzzi button, watching as the water began to erupt with bubbles and slowly stepped in, submerging herself in the warm water.
Whilst on the job, the Reaper never thought of anything but the job. He had to be that way because he couldn't let anything jeopardise the assassination. But as the knife in his hands glided across the target's neck, deep enough to kill him quickly, his mind wandered back to his lover. He had never felt anything as strong as he did for her.
They had met in extremely depressing circumstances. His target on that fateful day they met turned out to be (Y/N)'s father but she didn't care. In fact, she was relieved to have that disgusting man out of her life. Abusive, controlling, manipulative. He was a terrible man with a lot of power so when the Reaper found a girl in a locked room in the house, he felt pity run through him. The girl lept into his arms and cried, thanking him for saving her.
At first, the Reaper didn't want anything to do with her. Yeah, she was attractive but he needed no one. He COULDN'T have anyone. He was an assassin after all. Even if he did want company, he'd only be putting them in danger. However, the girl persisted, especially when she saw he had been injured during the assassination.
She patched him up and allowed him to rest in her room for a bit. As he laid there he remembered looking at his surroundings, the room where she was locked in for months at a time. The room may have looked beautiful with a bathroom attached and everything a person could have wanted but the Reaper knew better. She was locked away from society, abused and alone. That room was a living hell for her.
She stayed by his side for a few hours whilst he healed a bit, both talking about life. He reluctantly talked about his life, feeling weirdly calm around her whilst she told him about her life of abuse at the hands of her father who was dead on the floor in the other room.
Eventually, he stood up and went to leave when he felt a hand grasp his own. "Can I come? Please? I have nothing." He looked away and found himself hesitating from leaving. She was the first person he didn't want to leave. Her eyes were becoming wet and she looked so alone. He sighed and his grip tightened in her hand. "Come on quickly. Let's run away together."
He found himself back at the hotel room balcony and straightened himself up before walking into the room. "(Y/N)." He said in a loud voice. There was silence before the bathroom door opened and his girl walked out in a fluffy dressing gown that hugged her in all the right places.
"Yesss?" She smiled lazily and after seeing the glass in her hand, the Reaper conclude she must be tipsy from drinking. "I'm back. You have me for the whole night now." He approached her, taking off his long jacket in the process before wrapping her in his arms. She snuggled her face into his chest and he couldn't help but smile. He didn't deserve someone like her. So sweet and positive compared to his pessimistic assassin outlook of the world. Yet he knew they were a perfect match for each other.
"Come onnn, lay down with meee." She dragged him over to the bed and they both fell down onto it, both sighing at how comfortable it was. (Y/N) snuggled into his warmth, a smile on her face. He was somehow quite warm considering he had just been outside at night. Her dressing gown had moved a bit when they fell onto the bed, exposing her bare leg. His face turned to a frown as he ran his hand over the rough bumped skin on her leg. A large scar ran from the top of her thigh to just above her knee and the Reaper knew it was all his fault.
It happened last year on one of his assassinations. The targets henchmen had followed him back to the dingey hotel room he and (Y/N) had been staying in. They had to run from the hotel and as they were getting away, one of them managed to cut (Y/N) right down her thigh. He stabbed the guy and managed to escape with his lover bleeding out in his arms. He was lucky she survived that night but felt overwhelmingly guilty every time he saw it.
"Reaper. Stop thinking like that." He looked up at her face and saw she was staring directly into his eyes, a slight glare on her face. "Sorry...It's just my fault you got that scar. I wasn't focusing enough and allowed myself to get followed."
"It wasn't your fault. This stuff happens and you can't blame yourself." She placed her hand onto his and he let out a depressed sigh. "I should've kept you safe."
"I never asked you to keep me safe."
"You shouldn't have to ask (Y/N)." His voice was barely a whisper yet she still heard it in the silent room. She looked up at him and placed a gentle kiss on his lips, smiling slightly when he kissed back.
"Seriously, don't feel guilty. I love you Reaper. My life has been so much better ever since you saved me." She ran her hand through his messy black hair as he looked away with a shy smile which was unusual for him. "Have you not questioned why we are in such a fancy hotel? It's the anniversary of when I saved you..." His smile turned confident and (Y/N) blushed bright red before burying her face into his chest. She hadn't even realised! The Reaper laughed and kissed her head.
"I love you too (Y/N)."
Sorry if that was a bit shit 😅 There's not really too much about Koro-sensei as a human in the anime so I just tried to write him as best as possible.
Until next time bye- Jude
