Tohru x Female Reader

Story Title: Love isn't for the faint of heart

Hey guys! This one was requested by @-Vegeta-  б（＞ε＜）∂ Also who else is doing Inktober? I'm doing it for the first time and I'm enjoying it quite a lot. If you're doing Inktober, tell me how you're doing!

3rd person pov

(Y/N) stood in shock. Her world was breaking down around her. She had been dating Tohru for close to a year now and she loved her with all her heart. However, her heart was smashing in her chest.

"I LOVE KOBAYASHI!" Tohru had screamed at her during an argument. The dragon didn't mean it. She loved (Y/N) more than she could ever love Kobayashi but during the heat of the moment it slipped out in a flurry of anger. No words were spoken but yet everything was said in the silence. 

The door was slammed, leaving Tohru alone in the living room of Kobayashi's house. Tears streamed down her face as she wept. She was so sorry but she knew the damage was done. Tohru was later found by Kobayashi and Kanna when they returned home. She was on the floor, screaming in tears.

It was her fault.

That was three years ago. Three. Long. Years. It still hurt them both. Tohru was still living with Kobayashi and Kanna. Kanna had grown into a young teen (In human years) and Kobayashi was still working at the same place. Tohru was happy but in the back of her mind, (Y/N) was always there. Her laugh. Her smile. Her love. Her crying face. 

It was all there. All she wanted was to hold her in her arms again. To kiss her and say she was sorry for hurting her.   

(Y/N) felt like an idiot. She knew she shouldn't have left. She missed Tohru more than anything in her life. It felt like there was a black hole in her heart that couldn't be filled. There was no one as perfect as Tohru.

One afternoon, (Y/N) was walking home after a day of work when she felt someone tug on the back of her shirt. She turned around and saw that familiar shade of white, lavender hair. "K-Kanna..." The two stared at each other for a few seconds before embracing each other in a hug. "Oh my, you've grown so much! Look at you! I bet you turn a few heads in your class." (Y/N) giggled as Kanna nodded, her facial expression just how (Y/N) remembered it.

As they caught up, (Y/N) didn't even realise that Kanna was leading her back to Kobayashi's home. When they arrived at the door, (Y/N) felt her stomach fill with butterflies. "She's in there isn't she..." Kanna nodded at the older woman before knocking on the door. 

"Welcome back Kanna! How was...school..." That sweet voice brought tears to (Y/N)'s eyes. 

"(Y/N)...I-I.." 

"Just hug me." (Y/N) muttered before falling into Tohru's warm embrace. "I-I'm so sorry...I'm so sorry..." Tohru repeated over and over as she ran her hands through (Y/N)'s (H/C) hair. "Tohru it's okay. I've just missed you so much. I never should have walked away. I should've given you a chance to talk."

Kanna smiled and closed the door to the apartment, knowing she'd done her part. I'm lucky I saw her whilst walking home.

Tohru and (Y/N) didn't leave each other's arms for five minutes until they split and stared into each other's eyes. "I've waited three years...I need to do this." Tohru whispered before closing the distance between them. As their lips touched, sparks flew and both of them felt happiness they hadn't felt in three years.

"(Y/N) please. Give me another chance. I didn't mean to say what I said three years ago. I've missed you so much. You meant everything to me and I was ju-"

"Tohru it's okay. I love you still even now and I'd be more than happy to pick up where we left off. Yes, I was hurt but I'm okay now and I've had a lot of time to think about that day. I overreacted." (Y/N) sadly smiled at the dragon girl. "(Y/N) you didn't overreact. I shouldn't have said that! It wasn't okay to say that even in a fight. I promise I'll never hurt you ever again!" 

(Y/N) smiled at Tohru and kissed her cheek. "I love you Tohru."
