Ukitake X Reader

Story Title: Hollowfication

Hey guys! GUESS WHO'S LAPTOP BROKE.... Yep it's me... I'm so sorry that my updates are so inconsistent. This was requested by Bleach-Kayla a long time ago. Sorry it took so long to come out.

"Shinji do you wanna help me train or not?" A stressed voice yelled out. (Y/N) stood in the visord base, her hand holding the bridge of her nose with frustration.

"Not until you admit you like him!!" Shinji yelled back mischievously, a shit eating grin on his face. (Y/N) glared at her brother before letting out a defeated sigh and sitting down. "Look, even if I did admit it, what can I do? I'm technically not allowed to exist there. I was lucky enough they didn't notice it happening to me when it started to."

Shinjis smile dimmed and Mashiro jumped down next to her. "Ukitake doesn't know you're a visord so there is every possibility that he might like you!"

"That's the point Mashiro. I couldn't lie to him like that! It's not fair on him at all." The green haired girl pouted in response, knowing it was true.

"Look I came here to practice with my hollow mask are you gonna help or not cause I can cut my visit short!" (Y/N) yelled up at Shinji, who laughed before giving in. "Okay okay! When did you get this moody? You were never like this when you were younger."

(Y/N) thought back to when she was younger, the large captains quarters she'd run around in as a kid, her small bedroom, Shinjis big captains haori which was way to big for her as a little kid... That night.

She shook the thought away and lifted her hand to her face, putting hollow mask on and instantly crashing swords with her brother. She needed to let off some steam.

After practice finished, (Y/N) had to leave to get back to the soul society and wasn't really looking forward to it. "I'll see you as soon as I can Shinji." She promised as she hugged him before leaving.

A figure stepped out of the shadows and disappeared as she left, alerting no one.

Your pov

Back in the soul society you felt better from letting of some steam whilst training. You entered the 13th squad office and found Ukitake and Shunsui sat at a table enjoying some tea and playing a card game. As they heard you come in, their eyes darted towards you.

"Ah welcome back (Y/N). How was the human world?" Your captain asked, his smile making you blush on the inside. "Nothing special. Just a few hollows knocking about."

You hated lying to him.

"Come join us for som tea, it's been a while since we talked." Shunsui gave a warm smile, gesturing to a seat at the table.

You nodded your head, a smile naturally drifting onto your face. They were always so kind to you, probably because they felt bad for what happened to your brother.

You dazed off as you stared at Ukitake as he spoke. The gentle way he smiled and his soothing voice left you in such a trance that when Shunsui stood up to leave, you didn't notice. He patted you on the head and gave you a some what sad smile before leaving.

A few seconds of silence passed before Ukitake spoke.

"(Y/N), today when you were in the human world, I followed you."

Your world stopped. There was no way. No this couldn't happen. It's so out of the blue. It's not real.

"W-What do you mean C-Captain?" Tears already pricked at your eyes.

"You know what I mean (Y/N). You've been acting so weird and awkward lately so I thought if I followed you I'd found out why. But I found out so much more." You couldn't tell whether he was angry or not. His voice was cold. You said nothing, fearing his Zanpakto was about to go straight through you, but instead he said one word.

"Explain." That sweet gentle voice you loved was so cold.

"When I was a little girl, the person I loved more than anything was taken away from. Though you'd know that wouldn't you." You spoke through tears.

"I never forgot him and years later when you first sent me to the human world, I met him again. Shinji was waiting for me. He's fine and safe and doesn't want to hurt anyone! After a long overdue catchup, I felt so angry at what had happened to him. You'd all hidden what had properly happened to him. You all said he was just dead!" Ukitake's face softened slightly at your outburst.

"But now I knew and a rage I'd never felt before swept over me and then..." You choked saying the final word, tears still spilling from your eyes.

"Hollowfication. That bastard Aizen had infected me too. But it didn't take affect until that moment of rage." You stopped to breathe for a second, your tears had mostly stopped now, and looked up at the white haired man across the table.

His angry deminer had deplinished into a sadder deminer. He look apologetic almost."I was lucky that Shinji and everyone else was there to help me harness this power but I am unwillingly stuck with it now! I'm lucky enough I hide it this long but now you saw it today..."

You began to cry again. "I-I'm so sorry I wanted to tell you about it but I coul--"

"I like you too."

You looked up at him, confused and emotional. "W-What?"

"I heard you today talking about how you liked me. I'm saying now, I like you back." You were astonished. "B-But what I just said, I'm basically half hollow I shouldn't be allowed to live, im-"

"(Y/N) you didn't decide to do this to yourself. It was Aizen who did this to you, Shinji and all the others. Others in the Seireitei may think differently but I think you're perfectly fine here, by my side. I-If you choose to accept my confession that is." He blushed slightly, a smile adoring his face.

You couldn't hold it anymore and you jumped at him, hiding your face in his chest as you cried. You were so afraid he'd hate you when in reality he accepted you for what you were.

"Does anyone else know?" You frantically questioned.

"Only Shunsui but be won't tell a soul." He winked, putting his finger over his mouth.

"Ukitake... I love you."

Sorry that was a bit shit. Also sorry for being gone for so long. I'm happy to say my mum is back home and recovering well from the aneurism. I've also been participating in Inktober this October as well.
