Ruby X Dragon Faunus Female Reader

Story Title: A Rose and a Dragon

Hey guys! Another day in quarantine, another one-shot that was requested ages ago. This was requested by tmp2017 I hope it's worth the wait.

I remember when I first saw them, Penny was showing them around the academy. They looked tired and overall drained so I decided to go over. "Penny I think they're tired and need some rest. Maybe go easy on them."

"Oh (Y/N). I was just showing them around the academy! The academy is brilliant isn't it?" I nodded, her usual enthusiasm making me feel calm. I turned to the large group and extended my hand. "I'm (Y/N). I was supposed to meet you all at the Vytal Festival cause I was in the same team as Penny but something came up last minute and I had to leave after the group fight. I've heard a lot about you all!"

The girl who shook my hand fit the description Penny gave me of Ruby Rose. She was more beautiful than I could've imagined. I felt my dragon tail sway behind me, far to excitedly for my taste but I couldn't help myself.

They all introduced themselves with kindness. "What do you do around here?" Yang asked me. "I help out Penny with protecting Mantel, well I say help out but she doesn't really need the help." I laughed.

"Yes! I personally asked for (Y/N) to be added to our forces cause she is super strong and my best friend!" Penny said excitedly. "It's good to see another Faunus on the top lines." Blake said with a smile. I nodded back with understanding, my hand pressed firmly on my hip.

"What type of Faunus are you if you don't mind me asking?" The young boy Oscar stepped forward, asking with a shy voice.

"I'm a dragon Faunus." I grinned showing off my tail and small horns.

And that's how we met. I began to hang out with the group more often. They were amazing to be around and accepted me as their friend. I enjoyed Yang's loud and straightforward way of doing things and Weiss's intelligent yet also elegant way of fighting. Blake was good to have a long conversation with and I appreciated being able to swap stories of our experiences of being Faunus. 

Though out of all the new friends I had made, I found myself falling for Ruby's sweet personality. She was kind but incredibly determined to help anyone and everyone. Her childish sense of humour always puts a small on my face. Though sometimes I can't tell whether she's flirting with me or making jokes. 

"Ruby! How was training?" I caught her coming out of the training room, looking rather worn out. "Hey (Y/N). Yeah, Harriet really put me to the test in there." She laughed. "Wanna go back to the rooms and play some games?" I asked her, holding my tail behind my back with my hand so she couldn't see how excited I was.

Before she could answer we heard the sound of footsteps pounding down the hallway towards us. A flash of green and black zoomed past. Then another flash but this time it was pink and orange and my chest suddenly felt very wet. I looked down and found my shirt completely soaked through, the black outline of my bra showing through. 

"Crap! What was that?!" I said, looking down the hall. "I think it was Nora chasing Ren with a water gun." Ruby blushed, tugging her cape off and draping it over my shoulders gently. "Thanks...Come on we should get to my dorm so I can change." I said, my face looking down as we began to walk down to the dorms. I slowly opened the door to mine and Penny's shared dorm room and was glad to find she wasn't in there.

Ruby's pov

"Here come in I won't be too long." (Y/N) said to me as she let me into her room. Unlike ours, this room had two large single beds and not bunkbeds like ours. It was easy to tell which side was (Y/N)'s and which was Pennys. Penny's side was very clean with a picture of herself and her father neatly placed beside the bed whilst (Y/N)'s was slightly messy with some clothes on a chair at the end of the bed and a hat with two holes where her horns are hung on the bed frame. 

"Feel free to sit on my bed whilst I change." She smiled awkwardly, gesturing towards the bed. As I took a seat, I studied the patterns on her bedsheets. I was suddenly covered by a familiar red fabric. My cape? "H-Hey! What the--" I scrambled to get the cape off me, struggling when it got snagged on my clothes. When I did manage to pull it off I was greeted by (Y/N), her shirt off and a new white bra had replaced it. How the hell did she change it so quick? I felt my face become flush. She was so beautiful. Slender and curvy with a strong stance. Her tails (F/C) scales were shining as it swished from side to side slowly. It's so pretty and shiny...

As my eyes trailed up I saw a big long scar going from the top of her right hip down until it disappeared under her jeans. I felt my eyebrows furrow and I asked her what happen. She looked down almost nonchalantly and shrugged. "Being a Faunus doesn't come without its fair share of prejudices. This one happened just at the start of my time in atlas academy. It's the usual story... just some bullies who obviously had some problems with me being a Faunus." 

She walked over to that chair of clothes and found a black shirt to put on. "Don't look so sad, those people got kicked out of the academy thanks to Ironwood. I was lucky he was around when they decided to attack me."  I felt overwhelming sadness fill me. I can't understand why anyone would act that way to a Faunus! Especially someone as pretty as (Y/N)!

"Can I see it again?" I asked, my eyes wide and pleading.

She nodded, took a seat next to me and lifted her shirt up just enough to where the scar was visible. It looked like it would've been painful and deep. My hand reached out and landed on her hip. I gently stroked the area, feeling the unsmooth healed skin, and felt a sense of protectiveness. 

I looked back up at (Y/N)'s face and it was flushed slightly. It felt normal as our faces slowly drew closer and as our lips were almost touching, I saw (Y/N)'s face begin to crinkle up. "O-Oh...No." She managed to choke out before she sneezed, causing her horns to accidentally knock into me and a small poof of fire to come from her nostrils. I was so shocked I didn't even notice my slightly singed hair. "Crap oh my god Ruby I'm so so sorry! Is your head okay? Oh god your hair...I'm sorry! I can't control it when I sneeze..." She apologised over and over until her apologies were halted by my laughter. 

"(Y/N) you're amazing! I didn't know Dragon Faunus could breathe fire!" She looked away and pouted. "What's wrong?" Her eyes turned to me, almost as if they were analysing my face before she opened her mouth.

"I ruined...the moment."

"I mean...we could always just start it over again..." I muttered, a shy smile on my face. She nodded in agreement and once again our faces were inching closer and closer. I felt her lips touch mine.

We're kissing...I'm kissing (Y/N)!

Our kiss only lasted a second as we both played away with embarrassed laughter. "I like you (Y/N)." I confessed as my hand landed on hers. She leaned up and kissed the part of my forehead where her horns had hit. "I love you too Ruby Rose." 

Sorry if that was shit. Hope you enjoyed it 👌 Just about to go into May. I hope you're all staying safe and staying in your homes. Trust me I know how infuriating it is to be staying inside. This shit of a virus is making it so I can't see my boyfriend on our four year anniversary. I swear if this is still going on by the time my eighteenth birthday comes round I'll be livid.
