Maddie's POV:
Today we're going to visit Melissa again. I decided that some people aren't lucky enough to have a mom so I should be considerate of what I do actually have.
This morning, I woke up to the smell of Bacon and Eggs, and the laughter of the kids and Josh.
Enthusiastically, I jump out of bed and join the kids. That's right, I count Josh as a kid!
We had a very playfully morning following on from last night.
Last night what happened was we explained to the babies about Melissa. They didn't remember a thing so we stuck to the basics.
All we covered is that she's my mom and their grandmother and all of that stuff.
After a delicious breakfast, I went and had a shower.
Great. A freezing cold winter day.
Josh then brings the kids excitedly trying to say (but they can't yet speak) that they want to play in the snow.
Josh promised once we get back from the hospital they can.
I then went I my wardrobe and threw out a warm red winter sweater, tight black jeans, and my boots. I had a quick shower, got dressed, then straightened my long hair. On top of that, I popped a beanie on.
Perfect.
I bathed the babies while Josh was showering.
I put on Jack some little shorts and a T-shirt that said - "It's hard to be cute!" And I thought it was adorable. It had little dinosaurs and trucks around it too.
On Grace, I put a pink fluffy dress and put her hair in piggy tails. I had a ribbon and tied her hair in it too.
We were then ready and headed off in our new Jeep 4WD.
We finally arrived at the hospital and made our way into her room. I grabbed the flowers that I picked up from a florist before we came and put them on her side table.
She hasn't moved a muscle since last time we saw her.
Josh fiddled around at the doctors notes to see if we could find out any information.
I make eye contact with Josh and by the look on his face I can tell he isn't going to say something good.
I leave the pram right next to Melissa's bed and walk over slowly to Josh.
There is a sheet of paper which lists conditions and dates and all that paperwork.
Condition:
Critical Heart Disease - Stage 3/6.
Time:
When diagnosed:
September 13th.
When failure:
March - Midway.
6 months.. I think to myself in shock. It's October now so only 5.
Alright, Im determined to renew my relationship with my Mom. She is my one and only mother who can't ever be replaced..
I just need to be patient and persistent. That's all.. slow and steady.
After waking up from my daydream, Melissa is awake in deep conversation with Josh.
They were talking about.. life and illness I guess. Talking about me and her becoming close.
I speak to mom slowly and soon feels like to good old old days. Yes, that's right.. double old. I mean when I was 7 and we were close.
No, Maddie.. blur the bad thoughts. Relive the new ones.
We talk more and more an it goes so smoothly. She asks about Abby, and of course she has recovered and out of hospital.
We then talk about a bucket list and things to do before she.. passes.
I write down a few.
Bucket List:
• Go to a shop and pay with Monopoly money.
•Act gay in men's shop.
• Skydive
•Meet Celebrities
•Enjoy yourself
-
I then promised to visit every 2 days and then our bucket list will increase and get Into action.
-:/:
At home, as promised.. The kids play in the show.
Watching the kids from the front porch having fun with eachother throwing snowballs in each others faces and body parts makes me feel so happy. Seeing their checks go red of happiness and their fun screams increase and go louder. Were so lucky...

A/N:
Bucket list into action next chapter! The last paragraph was just to practice my improv skills at writing. It was on spot thoughts and wasn't that good x
Anyway.. Ilya.
