Maddie's POV:
I come home to Dazzle Dance Unite and I see my mom surprise me! I haven't seen her in days! She seemed different. She doesn't look the same without me and Mackenzie. Daggy clothes. Bags under her eyes. Brought down. Maybe she's got something to tell us.
"Mom" I hug my mom and she envelopes me into a squeeze of a hug. Of course, I'm acting like she doesn't abuse me.
"Hey honey! How are you? Has anyone found out?" She asks me lightening her mood. She's so fake.
My smile decreases. Really? I decide to walk off.
Mom grabs me tightly by the arm before I could escape. I let out a slight shriek before my mom cups over my mouth.
"I have something to tell you. I- I ha-" My mom starts before getting interrupted.
"Mommy!!" Mackenzie yells!
"Honey, I miss you. But I have something to tell you and your sister. We'll talk later. But this is important." My mom starts.
"Well, I don't know how to say this but.. I have- I have c-c... I have cancer.."
I cup my hands over my mouth in shock. Mackenzie starts to cry. Tears are streaming all the way down her face.
I have no emotion. I don't know how I feel. What.. Is this really happening?
Mom hugs Mackenzie. "It's alright sweetie.." She says, but I hear her whisper "at least I hope so."
"I-b..b.. H.. Ho- se-..." I stutter.
The bell rings, advising that we need to go to our dorms - or for us, penthouse.
"Ill talk to you girls later. You girls go." I give mom a slight smile but give up.
---------- In the penthouse ----------
"Hey Mads, where were you?" Chloe asks me in a bright expression but then it drops. "W..what's going on?"
Mackenzie burst into tears but Brooke hugs her.
"Do you girls have something to say?" Brooke asks us.
"Mom... She has ca..can- cancer.."
Sighs and shocked/upset expressions appear on my friends faces.
"Melissa has cancer? What on earth?" Kendall says.
Paige begins to hug both of us, and everyone joins in.
The only problem is... I don't knowing I'm that sad..
