Echoes go on for miles. You don't even realize it. Even a slight whisper can be heard by millions of souls. You never know, until you experience the most painful of sounds.

Marceline's P.O.V.

It's the last minute of the fourth quarter. Ten seconds left. Score is 73-71, Cougars are winning. Everyone is on their feet screaming. Cowboys ball. Brandon goes up for a three. The buzzer sounds. The ball goes into the rim and then rolls out. Thank god. All of the Riverside students jump up and run onto the court. The Rancho students start heading out the gym in disappointment. I, too, go onto the court, and make my way to Brandon.
"THIS IS SHIT!" Brandon screams.
"Well that sucks, now doesn't it, Donny?" I chuckle at him.
"Shut up, Scars. Just know I still know things. Many things."
He pushes me, and I fall. Jay helps me up, and Brandon was gone. I stand there with Jay, Ty, and Matt. Everyone is still cheering and laughing. Many students are holding posters and balloons. Some wore the school colors, ribbons, and face paint. I see AJ pushing through the crowd, with Elexa following.
"Good game," I say softly.
"Thanks...," he says, not making eye contact with me.
"Yeah, I see you with those threes," Ty chuckles, while winking at AJ.
"Uh...Marcy... Can I talk with you for a minute?" AJ mutters.
I nod my head. We step off to the side of the court, near the locker rooms, and Elexa was giving me the death stare.
No one was bothering us since all of the students were either leaving or jumping in the middle of the court. AJ was sweating like crazy, but he still looked...y'know. Hot.
"Do you still love me?"
He had a frown across his face.
"Yes. But judging by your face I'm guessing you don't want me to," I mumble.
"Marcy. I just...I want to protect Elliot. And I love him so much. If I just leave Elexa, it might go into court. Then my parents will find out and Elexa will have custody over Elliot. Can you imagine growing up without a dad?"
I began to remember things. Dad. If this is how AJ feels, is this what Dad felt like? No. Stop. Stop getting ideas.
Suddenly, a loud slam came from the locker rooms, followed by screams. A bunch of players run out of the locker room, and out of the gym. What the fuck is going on now?

Jayla's P.O.V.

Where's Brandon? No, no, no. I have to get me and Marcy out of here, before he hurts someone...
"Uh...come on! We should get going! Let's all eat out, we haven't done that in a while!" I yell.
I lead Ty, Matt, and Elexa to the locker rooms. I see AJ and Marcy about to make their way into the locker room.
"No!" I screamed.
They looked back at me concerned.
"Um...we should get going...,"I whispered to them, pulling Marcy's arm.
She pulled her arm back.
"What's wrong?" she says, worried.
We all start walking towards the exit, when two girls stop us in our tracks.
"Mel?!? Oh my god! I've missed you so much! How are you?" Marcy squealed, hugging one girl tightly.
"Could be better," the girl grumbled.
"Oh, guys," Marcy looked towards us, "this is Mel. She was my best friend at Rancho High. And the other girl...that's Cassie..."
"You must be Jay. Donny has told us a lot about you," Mel snarled.
Crap...wait. These are Brandon's girls, aren't they?
At that moment, AJ shifted his attention to the locker room, where Brandon runs out.
"EVERYONE. OUT. NOW!" he yelled.
What. The. Fuck. There was a gun in his hand. Everyone started to back away, but no one left the gym.
"I SAID, GET THE FUCK OUT RIGHT NOW!"
He pointed the gun towards the ceiling and shot it. Bang. All of the students stated running out of the gym, screaming their asses off. Marcy wasn't moving. She was just standing there. Shocked. Ty, Matt, and Elexa ran for their lives. AJ and I grabbed Marcy by the arms and began to run. Then, Mel, Cassie, and some other guys pushed us to the ground. AJ tried to swing at one guy, but the guy dodged it easily. He punched AJ, and a purple bruise formed on his cheek. He began to cough out blood. They dragged us to the middle of the court, where Brandon was. He was laughing like a psychopath. There was a guy holding me, a guy holding Marcy, and two guys containing AJ. My arms were numb from the guy's grip. Cassie and Mel walked up to Brandon, and he started making out with Mel.
"What the fuck, Donny! I thought you only fucking loved me?!?" Cassie yelled.
She slapped Brandon, and then Mel. Mel started to turn red. She grabbed the gun from Brandon. Bang. Cassie fell to the floor, blood streaming from her forehead. All of the guys looked away. I started to cry.
"Oh, fuck, you're so hot," Brandon smirked.
They began to make out again.
"Y-you betrayed me...," Marcy's voice was breaking.
"Bitch. I fucking could care less if you're fucking sad," Mel muttered in an emotionless tone, "so...who's first, Donny?"
Mel batted her eyelashes, and her eyes sparkled.
"You guys are fucking crazy!" Marcy shouted.
"So what? We're two killers in love," he kissed her, "and just because you said that. You can be first."
The guy pulled Marcy to Brandon. She screamed and kicked. Mel slapped her. Brandon grabbed Marcy and kissed her. And then pointed the gun to her head. She couldn't stop crying. I had no emotion. Why her...why...
Then, Brandon whispered, "Kidding, Scars." He pushed Marcy back into the guy, and then the guy dragged her back to the same place. Mel started laughing, and Brandon walked over to me.
"You remember what I said. This is what happens when you don't follow through on promises," he said.
"I'm sorry, Marcy. I love you. I love you too, AJ. Don't forget me," I began crying even more.
"Don't say that, c'mon, Jay. You're gonna be okay," AJ also started crying.
Marcy stared in shock, her eyes red. Brandon held up the gun to my head. Bang.

Slowly...

Fading...

Away...
