AJ's P.O.V.
We walked in and the room smelled amazing.
"Mmm...spaghetti?" I asked.
Marcy leads me and Elliot to the dining room.
"Haha...close. It's lasagna," she chuckled.
"Hear that, Buddy? They made your favorite," I said.
"Lasagna? I lub lasagna!" he shouted.
"Here," Marcy laughed, " sit down while I go put my bike away. Oh, you guys want some juice? Apple or orange?"
"Apple!" Elliot screamed.
"Inside voice, Buddy. I'll have some orange juice," I said.
"No problem. Oh, Elliot. I like apple, too," Marcy smiled, "Mom! AJ is here. Can you get two glasses of apple juice and one glass of orange?"
"Alright, Sweetheart! I'll be right there!" Her mom screamed from the kitchen.
Marcy went outside to go put her bike in the garage. Her mom soon came out with the juice, struggling to hold all three cups. I got up and walked over to her.
"Here let me help," I muttered.
I grabbed the three cups and put it on the table.
"Ah...thank you," she sighed.Marcy's mom had a mix of light and dark brown hair. Marcy probably got her black hair from her dad. Her skin was pretty light like Marcy's, and they had the same little nose. Her mom looked pretty young. She wore a black v-neck and a white pencil skirt, along with some brown sandals. Her apron was covered in tomato stains and some flour.
"I'm AJ," I said with a smile.
"I've heard a lot about you," she laughed, "as you already know I'm Marceline's mom. You can just call me Rev. It was what my husband called me when we were in high school."
"Oh, what happened to your husband?" I asked in curiosity.
"Marceline didn't tell you yet?" She frowned.
"No...she never mentioned him."
She gulped.
"That man. That man killed my son."
She clenched her fist.
"Oh...I'm so sorry...I shouldn't have asked."
"No, it's alright. But I think you should know the whole story. Let's talk in the kitchen. I don't want your brother to hear."
"My brother?"
Did Marcy tell her mom Elliot was my brother? Was she too embarrassed of me...?
"Isn't that your brother?"
"Rev...that's my son."
"Oh my lord."
"Yup."
"Well you learn something new everyday, AJ. After I'm done telling you about Marcy's father, why don't you tell me about your son?"
"Mom?"
It was Marcy. She was watching the whole time.
It looked like she was tearing up,"Mom. He's here."
Marcy's eyes looked like she had just seen a monster. She ran over to me. I hugged her tight, and she began to cry.
"Rev?"
It was a man with black hair and blue eyes, like Marcy's.
"What the hell do you want?" Rev screamed.
"My daughter. I want my daughter."
He pulled out a gun.
"Marshall, put it down. Get the fuck out of here. You are not hurting these innocent children."
"I heard about what happened to your friend, my little Mari. But you know how much I missed you? So many years of seeing my daughter grow up. Gone. I wonder whose fault is that."
"WELL YOU KNOW HOW MANY YEARS I'VE MISSED OF SEEING MY SON GROW UP, MARSHALL?!? HE'S GONE. He's gone. And it's all your fault."
"Let me remind you something Rev. I'm sorry I couldn't save him. That man killed your son. If he hadn't crashed into us then Marcus would still be here."
"STOP!" Marcy yelled, "Everyone stop. Dad. Get the fuck out of here."
"Not unless you come with me. And Rev. If my little Mari doesn't come with me, you can forget about living. And Mari's little boyfriend, and that little boy."
She began to walk over to him.
"Marcy, don't." I said.
Her dad pointed the gun at me,"Did we ask for your opinion?"
"DAD! You shoot him. And you can forget about me," Marcy mumbled.
"Daddy...I'm scared," Elliot cried.
"It's alright, Buddy. Everything is going to be alright," I whispered to him.
"What about Marcy?"
"Don't hurt my kid, Marshall. I'm not going to let you get away this time," Rev teared up.
Marshall looked back at Rev, and then walked out with Marcy.
"Everything is going to be alright, Buddy," a tear dripped from my face,"Just alright."_________
