Marcus's P.O.V.
We told Mom the story of what happened with the "crash". She was rendered speechless. We all were. All of our lives were changed. Whether for better or worse, it's hard to tell.
Mom grasped my hand. She wouldn't stop crying. She was looking at me as if I was an angel. We sat in the cold room until an officer brought in Dad.
"Dad! Dad! Are you okay? What did they do? How long are you going to be in here?" I gasped.
"Kiddo calm down. I'm fine. Look, the officers are sorting everything out and y'know we might go to court. Let's just not freak out about this, right Melia?" Dad said, eyeing Mom.
"Of course. But for now, let's go home Marcus. We're going to enroll you Riverside High."
"Um...what? Hold on a minute, Dad told me that me and him are going back to New York next week," I muttered.
"No, no. We're enrolling you at Riverside, Marcus."
We drove back home. Not a single word was said in the car.
"If you're hungry, I still have lasagna. I'll heat it up if you guys want?"
"That'd be nice Melia," Uncle said, "I'll help you in the kitchen."
"Since you guys are being very awkward now that our family is back together... I'm gonna take Marcus and AJ up to my room so we can catch up or whatever. C'mon," Marceline sighed.
Marceline, AJ, the little kid, and I ran up to her room. It wasn't what I expected. Her slate gray walls were scattered with a bunch of posters, and there were clothes all over her bed. She had a desk near her window, covered in papers. There was a Mac book atop of the desk, covered in stickers she probably bought from Zumiez. Marceline's bed was messily made, and her trash can was overflowing with crumpled papers and wrappers and bags of candy and chips.
Back in New York, her walls were pastel pink with framed family photos here and there. Her clothes were always neatly folded in her dresser drawers, which was next to her pink, princess twin bed. Marceline's desk was organized in a specific way, and if anyone ever touched something on it she would go mad.
"Guess Marc isn't used to it yet," Marceline teased.
"I...um...just gotta take it in, y'know?" I laughed.
We all talked to what seemed like forever. Catching up on drama and whatever was happening in our lives. Turns out Marceline is bisexual, and that little boy is AJ's son apparently. I told them I was also actually bisexual but that I didn't come out to Dad yet. Mom came in the room and called us down for dinner. It was pretty much just like Uncle Chandler's lasagna.
We all ate dinner, barely a word said. AJ and his kid went home after helping clean up. Marceline showed me and Uncle Chandler to the guest bed room.
As Uncle and I got ready for bed, Mom came into the room, "Marc, I'm going to finish the paperwork for your school tonight. You'll first day will be Wednesday hopefully."
Great. I got two days until I gotta go to Riverside with a teen dad, my "long-lost" sister, and some slut? Greaaaat.

Also like I've been obsessed with Riverdale lately but like "Riverside" sounds a whole lot like "Riverdale", BUT I JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I NAMED IT RIVERSIDE HIGH BEFORE I STARTED WATCHING RIVERDALE SO UM YEAH.
Spam the comments with suggestions or whatever gaha. OHHH YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE FUN? Comment your own OC or Fursona and I might pick one to be a love interest ;) That just seems it'd be fun y'know?
