A/N
I love this AU lol. I hope you guys are all having a great week!! :) Since I'm on spring break in trying to write a lot more, so I hope to get a few updates in while I have time to do so.
Let's get back to the story! There goes Pidge. I look to my right and see Lance jumping out of the trash can, practically exploding it, and the lovable Hunk falling down in his can. He shook it off as I knew he would and they went on pursuing my smoll green, fighting machine. I casually followed behind, skipping silently as the boys were being quite ridiculous. As we reached the roof top, Lance snuck up behind Katie, and I couldn't help but giggle in advance. I leaned against the building, admiring the trio from a distance, still mouthing their every word.
I laughed as Pidge kept yelling at Hunk to stop touching her equipment. God did I love that girl. I missed talking to her all the time as Katie and Kiona! The Defenders of the Galaxy! I chose the name as you can assume~. We were a great duo, battling the evil that lurked in our neighborhood and in our schools. I giggle at our memories. Closing my eyes I could see it all over again. Matt, Katie, and I all playing in the fields and in the river. The times were good back then. But I had to savor the time in the present and not wander the past.
I reopened my eyes and found Pidge explaining what she thinks Voltron is. I smiled from a distance at the dirty blonde, my presence catching her, a glint shining at me. She waved me over. I ran up and hugged the two guys, slinging my arms around their necks, pulling them towards me and squishing there faces against mine. They began to laugh at my silliness, but I just smiled and looked at Pidge with, what my mom says, hearts in my eyes. Then there went Shiro's pod along with the announcements for everyone at the Garrison to go back to their rooms. I snapped out of daze and ran towards Shiro's pod along with the other Paladins.
We reached the cliff, everyone bickering on how we were going to save Shiro, until- BOOM BOOM BOOM -right on queue!
"It's Keith!" Lance shouts, racing down the dusty ledge. I giggled, thinking of my vision ship of the purple duo. Klance, as I called them. I began to race down after the flirtatious Cuban boy.
I went tumbling as another vision came through. Keith burst through the door and knocked out the guards, cutting the leader of Voltron loose.
I came back to present time, panting. My body was scraped, bruised, and bloody. I quickly began to run to catch up with the trio, almost falling on my face again, dizzy and off balanced. I came into the room, lungs burning, I really needed to get more cardio done.
"No no no no no! I'm saving Shiro!" Lance exclaimed as he slung Shiro's free arm around his shoulder. I knew this whole conversation between the red and blue paladin by heart. It made me laugh every time. Pidge began to look my way, but I turned so she wouldn't notice all of scrapes and bruises on me. I told them that we needed to hurry before people came back.
We all hopped onto Keith's hover craft and rode across the desert.
"Why am I carrying this guy?!" Pidge yelled at everyone, Shiro slipping. I slid half of him into my lap so Pidge wouldn't drop him, although I knew she wouldn't, but at least she didn't have to work as hard to hold him.
Keith's insults were just as funny in present time as they were when I was six. They were quite mean and I knew I would have to scold him later.
I braced myself as the mullet head began to race off the cliff side. I scrunched my eyes shut and held onto shirt as tight as I could, even though I knew were going to be okay, I was still fearing for my life. I hated falling. Despised it even. Worst fear I have besides failing, disappointing, and being unloved, left, and forgotten.
Anyway, we eventually reached Keith's house in the dusty dry landscape of the desert, far from the Garrison, and quite close to Lance's lovely lion that I know, and they'll soon know, as Blue.
We had put Shiro to rest and I had went outside to rest in the peace and quiet. I gazed at the stars, trying to block out the soreness and pain that was surging through my body. My ears twitched as I heard the door open and loudly shut behind the person who was now sitting beside me. I didn't bother to look, I already knew who it was. I mean, I know everyone by their footsteps, it'd be crazy if I didn't at this point. I continued to look at the stars, smiling.
"They're quite beautiful, aren't they," the kind courageous green paladin stated.
I hummed in response. There was another silence, but it wasn't an awkward one, it was a peaceful one.
I sighed not breaking eye contact with the sky, "My best friend and I used to watch the stars every night. Rain or shine, we were out on our rooftops watching them for as long as we could. She was the bestest friend I could ever ask for. Katie Holt..," I paused,"Now she is something extraordinary. Smartest, bravest, and kindest girl I know, to be honest with you. I wish she was here with us," I laughed, looking over and Pidge with a warm smile. "I hope she just says 'hi' soon," I giggled. I began to stand up. "Goodnight, Pidge. Don't stay up too late, alright?" I told her. The dirty blonde nodded, humming in response. I chuckled and ruffled the small girl's hair, walking off into Keith's house, closing the obnoxiously loud door as quietly as I could.
Goodnight, Katie.
