Harold grabbed the cover and yanked it off the teleportation device. "This is the machine. Two plexi-glass plates that have glowing lights underneath?" Asked Aaron. "No, see look what it does." Said Harold grabbing a Lego character and setting it on the left pad. "Here we go." Said Harold grabbing the box on his worktable and pressing the green button. There was a whirring sound as the machine powered on and then the pad glowed brighter and a huge flash of white light then the Lego character was gone.

Aaron sat back on the chair. "It didn't work." Said Aaron. "No, no, no. This can't be." Said Harold. "See I told you, not our time to invent this." Said Aaron. "But you gotta believe me." Said Harold. "Wait." Said Aaron. "What?" Asked Harold. "Look at the right pad." Said Aaron. "What about it?" Asked Harold. "It's glowing." Said Aaron. "But you said it didn't work." Said Harold. "I misjudged you. It did work." Said Aaron as another bright flash shown through the room and the Lego character appeared in good condition.

"This is amazing." Said Harold running over to the pad. "Try something bigger." Said Aaron. "Here toss me that wrench set." Said Harold. Aaron tossed him the wrench set and he set it down on the left pad. "Okay Aaron press the green button." Said Harold. Aaron pressed the green button and the pad came to life and then the wrench set disappeared and then another white light and it reappeared on the right pad.

"Haha! This is amazing!" Said Aaron laughing. "Sik, call Sarah. She's in dinner right now but we need to show her." Said Harold. "Got it." Said Sik.

"Mrs. Sarah." Said a waiter. "Yes?" Asked Sarah as she wiped her mouth with a napkin. 'An urgent phone call for you." Said the waiter. "Okay, hand me the phone." Said Sarah. The waiter handed her a phone and she held it up to her ear.

"Hello?" Asked Sarah. "Hey Sarah, it is me Harold." Said Harold. "Hello Harold, how is Aaron, has he arrived?" Asked Sarah. "Yes he has but that is not of importance at the moment." Said Harold. "Harold, I'm in the middle of dinner. Can you call back later?" Asked Sarah. "I'm sorry Sarah but this is urgent, come over to the labs now." Said Harold. "Okay will do." Said Sarah as she hung up and handed the waiter the phone.

"I'm so sorry everyone. But Harold, our head scientist and inventor needs me." Said Sarah. Everyone nodded and Sarah smiled. "Have a lovely evening and I'll talk to ya'll later." Said Sarah walking out of the room and walking to the garage.

"Need a ride miss?" Asked Sarah's driver. "That would be lovely." Said Sarah sitting in the back seat. "Where to?" Asked the driver. "To the head labs." Said Sarah. "Gotcha." Said the driver as he drove her to the labs. It was a quiet night on the island as the car pulled into the garage. "There you go ma'am." Said the driver. "Thank you." Said Sarah as she walked into the labs and went into the elevator.

"Sarah's here!" Said Sik. "Get the door Aaron." Said Harold. "Too late, Sik got it." Said Aaron. Sarah walked briskly into the room and she set down her briefcase. "What is so urgent?" Asked Sarah. "The teleporter works, one hundred percent." Said Harold. "Couldn't you wait until tomorrow morning?" Asked Sarah. "No, we needed to let you know now." Said Harold. "Hello Aaron, how are you?" Asked Sarah. "I'm wonderful ma'am." Said Aaron. "That's good. Now show me how it works." Said Sarah sitting down on the chair.

"Okay, Aaron, hand me that tool box." Said Harold. Aaron handed him the tool box and he set it on the left pad. Aaron pressed the green button and there was a bright light as the tool box disappeared and then another white light as it reappeared on the right pad. "Wow." Said Sarah. "Wow? That's it?" Asked Harold. "I'm sorry, but it's so amazing." Said Sarah. "I know, it leaves you speechless." Said Harold. "Exactly." Said Sarah. "Okay well thank you for coming to see this." Said Harold. "We leave for Hawaii tomorrow." Said Sarah. "That's great." Said Aaron. "Be ready by ten AM to get on the plane." Said Sarah standing up. "Okay we will be ready." Said Harold. Aaron smiled and they shook Sarah's hand. "Good night Sarah." Said Aaron.

Sarah walked out the door and they sat down. "You hungry?" Asked Harold. "Yes I am." Said Aaron. Harold smiled and walked over to the mini fridge and handed Aaron a plate of noodles and chicken. "Orange chicken and chow mien." Said Aaron. "Of course." Said Harold sitting down across from him.

Harold grabbed the gift and set it on the table. "For me?" Asked Aaron. "Yes, it is your birthday." Said Harold. Aaron smiled and grabbed the gift and tore it open. Aaron smiled and set the wrench set down. "How?" Asked Aaron. "How what?" Asked Harold. "You got me a wrench set, not just one of the Hex sets but the Single Hex, Double Hex, Triple Hex, Quad Hex, and now Quintuple Hex." Said Aaron.

Harold smiled and patted Aaron's shoulder. "Happy birthday son." Said Harold. "Thank you." Said Aaron smiling. "Now eat, we need to wake up early." Said Harold. "Okay, well I need to unpack and then repack." Said Aaron. "Too late. I got Sik to do it for you." Said Harold. "Really, Sik knows how to do it?" Asked Aaron. "He can do so much more." Said Harold. "Like what?" Asked Aaron. "He has downloaded books and is learning more about human interactions." Said Harold.

"What I find creepy is how Sik can do whatever he wants when he wants." Said Aaron. "Yeah but he has all the laws encoded into him." Said Harold. "But is there any master switch that can fully shut Sik down?" Asked Aaron. "Yeah there is, we built it together in fear of a world taken over by robots." Said Harold. "Oh yeah, the master switch." Said Aaron.

Harold and Aaron were walking up to the apartment. "You need sleep Aaron. Get ready for tomorrow, we take off at ten." Said Harold. "Good night dad, thanks for everything. I'll see you in the morning." Said Aaron.
