"Sik. A-1-0." Said Aaron. Sik stopped and dropped Aaron, he sat down and looked at the ground. "Sik. What happened?" Asked Aaron. "The code has been overridden." Said Sik. "Is Harold still alive?" Asked Aaron. "I don't know." Said Sik. "How do you not know? You have a mental connection with him." Said Aaron. "He shut it off." Said Sik. "How can you shut it off?" Asked Aaron. "I don't know." Said Sik.
Harold looked around and unbuckled his harness. He fell onto the ground and groaned. He grabbed his arm and looked at it, it was soaked in blood. He grabbed the metal shard in his arm and tried to pull it out. It wouldn't budge. He tore a strip from the seat cloth and made a sling. He walked over to the wreckage and found the burning hull. He tried to touch it but it burnt his hand. He slowly walked in to see the charred insides of the burning ship. He stepped out and saw the gun he had. It was scratched and dented in a few places but still seemed to work. He swung it onto his back and he walked forward to the side of the cliff. He looked up and saw the sky turning dark. He sighed and started to climb.
Sik was walking through the caves and reached the surface of Mars. "Aaron. We made it." Said Sik. There was a loud roar and they looked over to the left. A herd of monstrous looking lizards with huge legs and torsos saw them and started to charge them.
"Aaron, we need to go." Said Sik. "I think we do." Said Aaron as they started to run. The lizards followed them. "Sik, what are those things?" Asked Aaron. "They are lizardous maulnison. Or Martians commonly know here on Mars." Said Sik. "Are they friendly?" Asked Aaron. "Not at all." Said Sik. They kept running and reached the edge of the cliff. They looked down in the crevice behind them and back at the Martians. "Aaron. The key. It could do something." Said Sik. "You're right." Said Aaron reaching into his bag. He pulled out the half of the key and held it in front of them.
The Martians ran towards them. "It's not doing anything." Said Aaron. "Just wait." Said Sik. The Martians almost reached them when they parted around them and ran off the cliff. Sik and Aaron looked back to see the Martians fall and roll down the cliff. They all went over the side and the dust settled.
"You okay?" Asked Sik. "I'm fine." Said Aaron putting the key back in his bag. "Where's the third part?" Asked Aaron. "Over to our left about 400 meters." Said Sik. They started to walk towards it. "So what do you think happened to Harold?" Asked Aaron. "He died in the fall." Said Sik. "He could still be alive." Said Aaron. "No, it killed him." Said Sik. They walked in silence until Sik stopped. He kneeled down and drew an X in the sand.
"Sik what are you doing?" Asked Aaron. "The third part is here." Said Sik looking at Aaron and then standing up. Aaron pulled a small foldable shovel from his bag and started to dig. Sik walked over to a boulder and climbed it. "Sik to Gordon. Come in Gordon." Said Sik. "Sik, is that you?" Asked Gordon. "Hello Captain Rimes. We would like an e-vac out." Said Sik. "Where is the ship?" Asked Gordon. "Crashed. It slid into a crevice on the surface." Said Sik. "Anyone hurt?" Asked Gordon. "Only Mr. Moore sir." Said Sik. "Aaron or Harold?" Asked Gordon. "Harold." Said Sik. "Send me your coordinates. We'll be there soon." Said Gordon. "Got it." Said Sik sending the coordinates.
Aaron kept digging and he felt something solid. He dug around it and pulled it out. It was a small satchel that was all dusty. He reached inside and grabbed a cloth wrapped stone. "The third part." Said Aaron sticking it into the other two parts. It glowed yellow and then the yellow color disappeared. He put it in his bag and looked through the rest of the satchel. "Look Sik, a map of Mars." Said Aaron handing it to Sik. He pulled out a telescope and a piece of paper with scratchy writing on it.
Dear Whoever Finds This,
I have found the third part of the key here on Mars in one of the many underground cave systems. There has been a misunderstanding and I had to run out here to my ship. Well it was thrown into the crevice by the dumb Lizards. The Galactic Force were chasing me out of the city and I lost them. They wanted the key part I had to find the rest of the key parts.
There is a search party in sight. This is where I will camp until my e-vac ship will arrive in a day. Here I should not be spotted by the Galactic Force. I will bury my satchel to be safe and if I'm caught, save me.
Sincerely, Dr. Edward
Aaron read the note out loud and set it back in the bag along with the telescope and then he out it in his bag. "How far away is the e-vac ship?" Asked Aaron. "Right about now." Said Sik. There was a boom and a ship entered the atmosphere. It landed next to them and the door opened. "Where's Harold?" Asked Gordon. "Dead." Said Sik. "How?" Asked Gordon. "Fell into the crevice with the ship sir." Said Aaron. "Did you get the third piece?" Asked Gordon. "Right here." Said Aaron patting his bag. "Good." Said Gordon as they walked into the ship.
"I feel bad for Harold." Said Gordon. "Yeah he's dead now." Said Aaron. "We can't deal on the past." Said Sik and Anise.
Harold heard a boom and looked up to see the S.S. Galleon flying towards the surface. He started to climb faster and he soon got tired. He rested and saw it fly back into space.
