Harold woke up with a start, he fell asleep in the study. He looked at the clock and it read 10:06 AM. Harold sat up and stretched, he yawned and then stood up. "Good morning Harold." Said Anise. "Is anyone else awake?" Asked Harold. "Mr. Gordon is in the bridge wondering where we are." Said Anise. "I should go explain." Said Harold. "Good idea indeed." Said Anise as Harold walked down the hall to the bridge.
"Good morning Gordon." Said Harold. "Good morning to you too Harold. Where are we?" Asked Gordon. "Cayman Islands. Planet, Earth." Said Harold. "Seems deserted." Said Gordon. "It is. They were evacuated three days after the nuking of the main city. Luckily, since its been so long. Things have grown back and the radiation is gone, mostly. But watch out for any abnormalities." Said Harold. "Sounds lovely. Did you fall asleep in the study?" Asked Gordon. "Yes I did, and that's why we are in the Cayman Islands. I know where the second piece is." Said Harold. "Here? In paradise?" Asked Gordon. "Yes, but it's last known place was here in 1997." Said Harold.
"So it could be anywhere else?" Asked Gordon. "True, but why not start here." Said Harold. "We should go explore and find it." Said Gordon. "What about Aaron?" Asked Harold. "He'll be fine, we'll get Anise to tell him." Said Gordon. "Good idea." Said Harold as they walked out of the ship.
As they stepped out onto the deck of the ship, the sun was shining above them, the waves lapped against the hull and the wind rushed past them. "Well isn't today a beautiful day." Said Gordon. "Anise, how far from shore are we?" Asked Harold. "We are exactly a quarter of a mile away." Said Anise. "I can see the island, sorta." Said Harold. "Well, release the dingy." Said Gordon. A crane raised out of the deck and a small motorboat was dropped over the side.
"Hope on in." Said Gordon climbing down the ladder. Harold followed and they drove to shore. They drove the bow onto the shore and climbed off. "Where's the key piece?" Asked Gordon. "Not anywhere close to shore." Said Harold. "So in the jungle?" Asked Gordon. "Exactly." Said Harold pulling out their piece of the key. They walked forward and towards a path made into the jungle.
"This path is new." Said Gordon. Harold knelt down and touched the ground. "Yes, recently, last few hours I guess. I saw a smoldering fire on the beach when we came in." Said Harold. "Why didn't you say anything?" Asked Gordon. "Forgot." Said Harold. "So there are natives here that might be dangerous?" Asked Gordon. "Yeah could be, could be really friendly, but I doubt that." Said Harold. "Why do you doubt that?" Asked Gordon. Harold stopped Gordon mid-step and pointed through the trees. There was a group of people in ragged clothes and chanting in a weird language. In the middle of their circle was a fire that had a person above it slowly being turned.
"They are for sure not friendly." Said Gordon. "We need to get the piece." Said Harold. "Where is it?" Asked Gordon. "Look, at the stone sculpture over there. It's a drawing of the key piece." Said Harold. "It's also a map." Said Gordon. "Then the key as of the map is in the crevice a couple miles away." Said Harold
All of a sudden there was a loud swish and a scream pierced the air. "Oh I don't like this one bit." Said Gordon turning and was about to take a step when a sword blade swung at his neck. "Hello sir. We come in peace." Said Gordon smiling. Out of the trees and bushes a circle of men surrounded them.
"Who are you?" Asked the one holding the sword at Gordon's throat. "I am the captain of the S.S. Galleon." Said Gordon. "That's your ship off of shore?" Asked the man. "Yes it is." Said Gordon. "And who's the other one?" Asked the man. "I'm Harold." Said Harold. "I wasn't asking you." Said the man hitting Harold in the head with the butt of his sword, Harold collapsed onto the ground. "He, um, he is my crew mate aboard the S.S Galleon." Said Gordon. "Can we board and take all your valuables?" Asked the man. "No." Said Gordon. The man pushed the point into Gordon's throat. "It was more of a rhetorical question." Said the man.
"I'm sorry." Said Gordon. The man laughed and looked at the rest of the men. "Wow, he is sorry for disrespecting his elders." Said the man. Everyone else started to laugh. "You four, take them to the holding cells. Strip them of their valuables." Said the man sheathing his sword.
Gordon sighed as two men grabbed his arms and dragged him and Harold into the clearing. They looked around and saw huts and the fire with the man over the fire. The four men dragged them through a cave and tossed them into a cell. The four men locked the door and left them.
"Harold. You okay?" Asked Gordon. "No, let me sleep." Said Harold. "No man, get up, we are in a tropical pirates dungeon." Said Gordon. "Cool, but I need sleep." Said Harold turning over. Gordon sighed and looked at the door. The handle and lock was rusted badly and seemed breakable. He looked around and saw no one nearby. He stood up and charged the door. He slammed into the door and he was thrown back onto the floor.
Harold laughed and sat up. "I knew that wasn't going to work." Said Harold. "Why didn't you say anything?" Asked Gordon. "I wanted to see you do something funny." Said Harold. "Men with swords caught us but an army couldn't, how ironic." Said Gordon. Harold laughed and stood up next to Gordon. "Don't worry. I sent Aaron a message." Said Harold. "How?" Asked Gordon. "Sik and I have a mental connection. I sent him a mental message and now he will pass it onto Aaron." Said Harold. "You're truly a smart man Harold." Said Gordon.
