Time Itself

Harold looked at Aaron and then at the airport. "I have an idea." Said Harold. "Yes and that Idea is?" Asked Aaron. "We need to take a plane and install a Time Travel device." Said Harold. "Really? A time travel device?" Asked Aaron. "Yes, it will work. Install it in the engine on the front and once we reach a certain speed I'm guessing it would work." Said Harold. "Really?" Asked Aaron. "I think so." Said Harold.

They stayed on the roof and kept looking. "One problem." Said Aaron. "And what is it?" Asked Harold. "How do we get around the military?" Asked Aaron. "We sneak in." Said Harold. "We can't do that with an engine." Said Aaron. "We pose as pilots." Said Harold. "Good idea." Said Aaron.

Harold walked to the edge of the roof and climbed down the ladder. "You coming down?" Asked Harold. "Yes I am." Said Aaron following Harold. They walked across the street. "Where are we going to build this?" Asked Aaron. "In a shop. I saw a closed down auto body shop when coming to meet you at the saloon." Said Harold. "Okay, well lead the way." Said Aaron.

They reached the shop and saw a lock in place. "Easy, just break in." Said Harold grabbing a pipe and smashing the lock as it fell into the ground. "Easy." Said Aaron and they walked into the door. "Wow this place is a dump." Said Harold. "I know." Said Aaron grabbing a piece of wood and it crumbled under his hands. He wiped his hands and kept walking.

"What happened here?" Asked Harold. "Out of business, I'm guessing." Said Aaron. "Yeah but look, cars!" Said Harold running through the doors and into the main shop. "You found your cars. Now do your science stuff and get us out of here." Said Aaron. "Happily." Said Harold grabbing a car and opening the engine.

"Aaron, get the crane and roll it over here. I need to hook up the engine block and drag it out." Said Harold. "Will do." Said Aaron standing up and rolling the crane over to Harold. "We'll be out of here in no time. Depending on how this acts." Said Harold. "Good, this place is starting to scare me. We can die in this war." Said Aaron. "I know." Said Harold as he lifted the engine block out.

Aaron walked back into the offices and tried to open a filing cabinet. The drawer wouldn't budge. Aaron pulled on it again and it popped off sending Aaron flying into a desk. "What the hell." Said Aaron staring at the cabinet which still wasn't open. Aaron stood up and saw how he destroyed the desk.

"What's this?" Asked Aaron grabbing a manila envelope in the rubble of the desk. Aaron looked around and saw that Harold was still working on the engine. Aaron ripped open the envelope and inside was a few papers. He took them out and went through them. The first couple were just fees and things the company bought. He tossed those to the side and saw another envelope with that and opened it. Inside was a letter written in long hand. Aaron read over it.

"Harold. You gotta see this." Said Aaron. "What is it?" Asked Harold. "This is a letter from the future." Said Aaron. "How do you know?" Asked Harold walking over. "Look at the date inscribed." Said Aaron. "3004. So? It could be a fake." Said Harold. "Anyways. The World's resources are almost used up by now. No one would be alive." Said Harold. "Look. Okay that makes sense. But as of right now, not now, but back in 2017, NASA had found habitable planets. Maybe, just maybe, they sent a crew out and they had sent a letter back almost a thousand years later, into the past." Said Aaron. "How is that possible?" Asked Harold. "Time travel and teleportation. Little things have changed the future." Said Aaron.

"Okay well I need to get back to the engine. You do whatever." Said Harold waving Aaron away. Aaron looked at the letter again.

Dear John,

I knew you hated me for leaving, I have found that being a space merchant is far more cooler than being a space pirate. You are missing out up here. The stars, the sky, the beautiful triple suns. TRIPLE SUNS JOHN! Well my time in the Galactic Forces have ended. But my last mission was crucial and I am never allowed to talk about it, but in the package I sent you, there is something very important I need you to keep an eye on for me. Keep it safe and pass it down, generation, by generation. Having it in the past will be better so send it to yourself then, explain everything, what we've done together and tell your past self the crucial importance of the piece. I am currently hunting down the last of the pieces, not as a G.F member but as a merchant. I am close to finding the next piece. Located on Planet BX-620-6. There they have a temple worshiping it, those gosh darn Gerons. Our cousin, Aaron Moore the third. Has the teleportation device for me to send you the next piece. He'll give it to you. I know the war has been bad and it's getting worse but keep going, take in the Sky City Military and tell them you'll fix their vehicles. They'll love that, and it'll help.

Your Brother,

Malcolm M.

Aaron put the letter back in the envelope and set it in his coat. He checked through the desks and found a slip of paper with a code on it. "4117" He walked over to a safe and punched in the code. There was an audible click as the safe door opened. He reached inside and pulled out a piece of metal, thin and long, but was sturdy. "Harold, what is this?" Asked Aaron showing Harold the piece. Harold dropped his tools and grabbed the piece.

"We can't leave Sky City, not just yet." Said Harold looking at the letter and metal and then at Aaron.
