Aaron pushed the manhole cover and crawled into the alley. A man pushing a cart looked at him. "Hello, is there anyway to find out who enters and leaves this town?" Asked Aaron. The man laughed and looked at Aaron. "Anyone who enters and exits is logged in at the gate, go ask the gate guard." Said the man. "Thanks." Said Aaron running down the street. He saw a military truck, just like one from last night slowly drive by. Aaron ducked into a store and he saw it was a clothes store.
"Hello, are you new in town?" Asked the clerk. "Yeah sorta, I need to find the gate." Said Aaron. "Oh no, your clothes. It's all a mess. Come here. Since you're new just trade your clothes for the new ones I'll give you." Said the clerk ignoring Aaron. The clerk ran into a room and took out a trench coat, jeans, boots, and a shirt. "Go change in the room and we'll see how you look." Said the clerk. Aaron walked over to the changing room and got changed. He walked out and the clerk turned around.
"Perfect. Now take this." Said the clerk handing Aaron a small revolver and tucking it into a holster on the inside of his trench coat. Aaron thanked the man and walked outside into the streets. He walked towards a guard and he looked at him. "Where is the city gates?" Asked Aaron. "A couple miles to your left." Said the guard. "Thank you." Said Aaron walking down the street.
Harold was walking through the city when he saw a guard pull out a baton and whack someone across the head. There was a loud yell as the guard and a guy got into a fight. Harold reached instinctively for a pistol but it wasn't there. He looked around and saw a gun shop and walked in.
The store was quiet and there was a fan slowly spinning above. Harold saw a pistol to his left and grabbed it. "That'll be $45." Said a clerk. "How much for ammo?" Asked Harold. "$20." Said the clerk. Harold nodded and the clerk set a box of ammo on the counter and Harold handed him a hundred. "Here's a coat." Said the clerk handing Harold a coat. He put it on and bought a holster. "Thanks." Said Harold walking out the door. He made it outside and sat down on a bench.
Aaron ran towards the huge bronze gates ahead of him. A man in a building was reading a book. He knocked on the door. The man opened the door. "Hello, what can I do for you?" Asked the man. "Was a man around his late 50's come in here, looked like he didn't belong?" Asked Aaron. "No one came in recently as of the last week, except weekly shipments from Earth level." Said the guard. "Earth level?" Asked Aaron. "Yeah, do you know where you are kid?" Asked the man. "No." Said Aaron. "Welcome to Sky City kid. What's your name?" Asked the man. "Aaron. Aaron Moore." Said Aaron. "Well Aaron I don't see you in my roster. I'll just put you down." Said the man. "Also my father is here, his name is Harold Moore, is he on your roster?" Asked Aaron. "No, no Harold Moore, want me to put him down?" Asked the man. "Yes." Said Aaron. "Okay done." Said the man. "Put a missing persons search on the man." Said Aaron. "Okay will do." Said the man.
Aaron walked back down the street. He heard speakers turn on. "All searching for a male named Harold Moore. If found or heard this, go to the saloon, and meet your son there. Thank you." Said the man. Aaron ran to the saloon and walked through the doors. Only one other person was there at the bar drinking water.
"Dad?" Asked Aaron. Harold turned around and smiled. "Hello Aaron." Said Harold. "Where the hell have you been?" Asked Aaron. "Language. But I was knocked out when I got here but a baker brought me in." Said Harold. "Where are we?" Asked Aaron sitting next to him. "Well from what I know, we are in a city in the clouds." Said Harold. "How is it possible?" Asked Aaron. "Nuclear propulsion." Said Harold. "How?" Asked Aaron. "Huge engines with blades and propulsion below the city powers the city and helps it stay above the Earth." Said Harold.
Aaron sat back and laughed. "How did we end up here? That was a teleportation device." Said Aaron. "Exactly. We must've done something to knock it to where we time travel away from our present into the future." Said Harold. "And you know this, how?" Asked Aaron. "There is no Kang Islands anymore. They were overrun by another country." Said Harold. "Your kids Aaron will be in the war. Your grand kids are here somewhere." Said Harold. "That means what if I see them?" Asked Aaron. "I don't know but something bad." Said Harold taking a sip of his beer.
"Sir. Can I ask you something?" Asked Aaron. "Yeah sure thing kid." Said the bartender walking up to him. "Do you know everyone in this town?" Asked Aaron. "We all know everyone." Said the bartender. "Well do you know an Aaron Moore anywhere?" Asked Aaron. "Yeah, that man is insane. He comes here every Friday night after working in the propulsion room, spry as a young lad and drinks up a third of my bar." Said the bartender. "How old is he?" Asked Aaron. "A young 26." Said the bartender. "His name is Aaron Moore?" Asked Aaron. "Yes but he's an Aaron Moore the third." Said the bartender. "The third?" Asked Aaron. "Yeah his grandfather, the first Aaron Moore was alive before and during the war and then his father was one of the founders of this city. He doesn't like people knowing so he works away from the city." Said the bartender.
"Thanks." Said Aaron handing the bartender a $20 and standing up. "Say, what's your name?" Asked the bartender. "I'm Aaron Moore, the first and this is my father Harold Moore." Said Aaron. "The man who invented time travel. Also the Sik 67-23." Said the bartender. "Exactly." Said Aaron smiling. They walked out the door and down the street.
