Harold saw the water rushing up towards him as he fell from the airship. He hit the water and from the impact was knocked out. Last thing he saw was water swirling around him.
"Harold! Harold! You okay?" Asked Aaron slapping Harold on the face. Harold coughed and spat out water. "I'm fine, what the hell happened?" Asked Harold. "Look." Said Aaron pointing at the debris laying around the ground and river. The airship was sticking half out of the water and there was engine parts and other parts laying around the ground. Harold sat up and noticed they were on the beach next to the river. His clothes were wet and he was cold.
"How do we get back up to Sky City?" Asked Aaron. "Don't know, but we need to find a way up, and fast." Said Harold. He stood up and started walking towards a building in the distance. As they got closer Harold saw something on the shore. Harold ran towards it and stumbled onto his knees next to the body.
"What is it?" Asked Aaron running over. It was Sik. Laying on the sand, one arm was torn up, parts of his body cracked and there were bullet holes as well. Harold looked at Aaron. "It's our fault he's dead now, we shouldn't have come here." Said Harold. "We didn't mean to." Said Aaron.
Harold stood up and grabbed Sik's head and put his hand on top. "What are you doing?" Asked Aaron. The back of his head opened and a memory chip slid out. "This is what I need. Also this." Said Harold grabbing a small metal case from underneath, which held more memory chips. "How long do each chip last?" Asked Aaron. "Each about a decade." Said Harold. "Wow." Said Aaron.
They kept walking towards the building. They made it to the building and saw it was a station. "Daily Trams, $10 per person." Read on the sign. The building was shut down but they walked past the gate. "How do we operate this?" Asked Aaron. "Easy, press this button." Said Harold. The lift started to move up and towards the city.
"We have twenty minutes till we reach the top. Might want to get comfortable." Said Harold sitting on the ground. Aaron sat across from him. "We need to find a way back. Can you think of anything?" Asked Aaron. "Time travelling is quite simple. There is a thing called a Hinderkind that helps I'm guessing." Said Harold. "They still have those?" Asked Aaron. "Most likely no, so we would have to go find a blueprint of them and craft our own." Said Harold.
"Hey the lift stopped." Said Aaron. "Huh? Didn't notice." Said Harold standing up and looking out the window. "That's a long way to go." Said Aaron. "Why'd it stop?" Asked Harold. The speaker in the corner crackled to life. "Please go back down to Level E. We are in evacuation mode." Said the man. "We need to go back up, we are part of the S.C Army." Said Aaron. "Who?" Asked the man. "Officer Moore and my father Officer Moore." Said Aaron. "Okay Officers, come on up." Said the man and the speaker died. The lift started to move again.
"Hey I can see the top." Said Harold. "Nice, we are so close." Said Aaron as the lift reached the edge of the city and the door opened. "Welcome to Sky City" Read a sign. They kept walking and looked around. "The city is abandoned." Said Aaron. "Of course it is. They're in evacuation mode." Said Harold.
"Hey citizens, you can't be here!" Yelled a soldier running towards them. There was a loud buzz as a huge hole appeared through the soldier. The soldier fell and a man with a laser gun was standing down the street.
"Run." Said Harold and they ran. "Where's our guns?" Asked Aaron. "Lost when we fell." Said Harold. They turned down and alley and stopped. The enemy soldier ran past. They heard gun shots and explosions all around them. The building behind them exploded and they ducked as debris rained down around them. "Harold, we need to escape as soon as possible. "The airport." Said Harold. "It's in shut down mode." Said Aaron. "No, but we can steal a plane." Said Harold as he ran out into the street.
Aaron sighed and ran after him as bullets whizzed past their heads. Harold looked around and saw a ladder going to a roof. "Up here, let's go." Said Harold as he climbed up the ladder and to the roof. Aaron followed and Harold grabbed the ladder and brought it onto the roof. "We can't die, or time will be messed up." Said Harold setting the ladder onto the side of the roof and it created a bridge to the next roof.
"We are going across that?" Asked Aaron. "Of course we are." Said Harold stepping onto a rung and slowly making his way across the ladder. He made it to the other side. "Your turn." Said Harold. Aaron took a deep breath and started to walk. He was halfway across when he heard gunfire and he saw the ladder being hit by bullets. He lost his balance and fell off the ladder. He caught himself on the side and was hanging on for life. The enemy soldier was advancing towards him. "No way. Not today." Said Aaron as he pulled himself on top of the ladder.
Aaron regained balance and walked faster along the ladder. He made it to the other side and started to run. "Aaron, on the count of three. We have to jump." Said Harold. "Why?" Asked Aaron. "Just trust me." Said Harold. "Okay." Said Aaron. "One....two....three!" Yelled Harold and they vaulted off the roof and landed on the other side.
They kept running and finally made it close to the airport. "Okay, you good?" Asked Harold taking a breath. "Yeah, I'm fine." Said Aaron breathing heavily. "Well the airport is right there." Said Harold pointing at the airstrip and the few planes there.
