( Jisoo's POV )
" Hey, I have to graduate from university next week, and I don't wanna go," Jennie said.
" Why?" I asked, question marks all over my face.
" Cause, I wanna go to Lisa's party instead," she replied.
Lisa is our next door neighbor and she's turning 19 next week Friday, " Can you go for me?"
" Me!" I exclaimed, my brown eyes wide with shock.
" All you have to do is shake hands, take the scroll and say a short little speech," she tried to reassure me.
" But I don't look like you," I said.
" The professor's old, I can more than promise you that he wouldn't notice a thing," she answered, " Plus, if you go, I'll work your night shifts for you for a week."
" Fine," I agreed. How stupid of me, I should've known that Amma was going to make that the most humiliating night of my life.
Friday night
" I'm ready to go party!" Jennie exclaimed, twirling around in her light pink dress, " Now, remember, don't be nervous," she reminded me.
" O- okay," I stuttered.
I was frightened of Amma, she was going to be there watching and if she finds out I'm not Jennie... Lord alone knows what she would do to me.
I was sitting there trying to position the hat on my head to cover my face when I heard, " Kim Jennie!"
That was my cue, I slowly crept onto the stage and accepted her scroll, avoiding eye contact with the audience.
I tried to get of the stage in time so that I didn't have to say a speech, but of course, because of my luck, the host announced, " Ladies and gentlemen, I'm so sorry that I forgot to remind the other students about their speech, but this will be the first one for the night coming from Kim Jennie!"
I walked up to the microphone and began to say the speech.
" I- I would like to say thank you to my mother, father, Amma and-"
" That is not my granddaughter!" Amma shouted. Crap.
She then stomped onto the stage and yanked the hat that was hiding my face off of my head and yelled, "We have an imposter!"
Out of all things to call me, she calls me an imposter, seriously Amma?! I was about to reply but I was interrupted by a harsh slap on my face.
I scurried off of the stage in tears and into one of the bathroom stalls, where I locked myself inside and cried.
After crying like a baby, I changed into a pair of white shorts and a blue top with my hair in a messy bun. Next I removed all my makeup and ran home as fast as my legs could carry me, as I did not want anyone noticing me.
I opened the door to the room that Jennie and I shared to see Amma scolding Jennie.
" How could you let that little bastard ruin your big night! You chose your stupid friend's party over this!" She scolded.
Jennie just sat there on her bed, speechless. Amma realized that I was standing there, but thankfully, she didn't do anything to me.
" Jisoo," Jennie started crying, " I'm so, freaking sorry."
" No, you don't need to apologize," I said, hugging her.
" I just cared about myself, and that stupid party, I forgot all about you," she sobbed.
" It's okay, I'm fine," I lied.
" Well, as long as you're fine, I'm fine," she said releasing the hug.
