The sky was a dark purple, giving off an evil tone. Midna and I never slowed. We were determined to get our friend back. The valley had strange black things coming out of the ground. I passed where the dirt turned purple.
"Gah!" I looked back at Midna to see a strange force field blocking her entrance.
"I can't get in!" She exclaimed. I looked at the barrier. I have to do this alone.
"Look for another way in," I ordered her, "if you can't, then wait here for me." She nodded. I continued forward. I tried to recall information about this place. A sorceress had summoned three portals in time here. Using these, she had freed thee of the four pieces of the king of darkness's soul. The same king who had taken my friend. This is where the sorceress both began her plan, and where she fell. I walked up two flight of stairs up to a platform. Gannondorf stood, back to me. I drew my sword.
"Well, you actually came," he turned towards me as he spoke. "I'll admit, I was quite dubious you would actually come." He took a step towards me. Behind him, Tails was motionless on the ground.
"LET HIM GO!" I shouted.
"Hmm," he rubbed his chin. "Maybe, if you beat me." Drawing a sword of his own, he charged. The sword was large, white with curls as edges. I did something stupid. I tried to deflect it. His sword clashed with mine, mine shattered. I was blown back and slammed against something. My left shoulder felt like it had been dislocated. Gannondorf approached me smiling.
"Well, you might as well surrender. Unless you've got another weapon." I growled. I wasn't going to surrender. Still, how could I beat him without any weapon? I had another stupid idea. I got up and held out my right hand. A bright light comes from my hand. When it stoped, there was a Keyblade in my hand. Not Rainfell like I was expecting. The handle, which I now held, appeared to be made out of bones. The rest of the blade looked like water. The edge looked like a broder u. Dangling down from the handle was a chain and on the end was an Alpha symbol, the first letter of the Greek alphabet. Gannondorf looked mildly surprised. I took this time to charge him. He barely got a deflect in, I managed to cut his hand. He stabbed left and I strafed right. Using this to my advantage, I stabbed his right rib. He grabbed his ribs. I tried to use this time to try and stab again. Unfortunately, he feigned me and got my ribs. As I was trying to recover, he slashed my shoulder and pushed me down. I leaned on my right arm.
"Just give up Rhion," he ordered me, "you can't win." I shook my head. The only thing worse than death for me was surrender.
"Hmph. Very well." He drew his sword back. I closed my eyes and waited for the pain to come. I knew he was going to kill me. No pain came. I opened my left eye to see Tails in front of me taking the blow. He turned back and smiled at me, before falling to the ground. A large bleeding wound was across his chest. My breathing got shallow. Tails suddenly turned into a child with brown hair wearing a purple and blue striped sweater.
"Tails...You..." I quietly said looking up. I remember screaming primal like before blacking out, a blast ringing in my ear."Rhion!" Midna yelled outside the barrier. A blast had gone of near where she saw Rhion disappear. Sonic, Bowser and Ortinsia stood by her. The barrier blocking their entrance went down. Sonic immediately ran to find them. He made it to where the blast went off. Rhion was unconscious over Tails protectively. Sonic ran over to the two. He immediately panicked when he saw Tails's wound. Rhion didn't look too hurt which was good, but Tails... Ortinsia came close behind.
"Oh gods," she muttered seeing the wounds. She ran over to stop the bleeding. She began to sing and play her harp.
Oh youth,
Guided by the servant of the goddess
Unite earth and sky and bring light to the land
The bleeding slowed. She wrapped it up.
"That should do until we get back." She looked at Rhion. "Luckily, Rhion's wound isn't too bad but I still need to wrap it up." She wrapped Rhion's shoulder and ribs. She noticed a blue light in her friends hand. She gently touched her friends' hand. A glowing symbol appeared on the top of her hand.
"What the-" Sonic asked. Ortinsia shrugged. Bowser and Midna ran up to meet them.
"What took you so long?" Sonic asked them.
"I had a flashback," Midna answered.
"You've been here before?"
"I think so."
"We'll discusses the flashback later," Ortinsia barged in, "let's get these two back." Midna notice the two of them and nearly cried. Bowser picked up Rhion and Sonic picked up Tails.
"Don't worry, I'll get you safe. I promise."I came about slowly. My eyes opened first before I felt pain in my ribs. I looked around slowly. The room was white with a window, curtains drawn, with some mechanical devices by me. A band of metal was on my wrist. It connected to a beeping device that must have been to measure my heart rate. A bowl of soup was on a table beside me. I figured out I was in the hospital ward in the facility.
"Tails!" I shouted remembering my friend. I started to get out of bed and fell down dizzily.
"Easy Rhion," a calm voice answered above me. Moogle was above me.
"Moogle what-" I tried to get back up and fell. Moogle caught me. She eased me onto the bed and handed me the soup. I began to eat slowly as Moogle explained.
"Midna woke Sonic and Ortinsia up late last night. She explained that you had gone to save Tails and they had to hurry to help her. Bowser joined in as well. Midna teleported them as a blast went off in the valley."
"A blast?" Had I done that?
"I can't remember much after Tails took the blow for me. Is he okay?"
"He's fine. Ortinsia got to you two in time and stoped most of the bleeding. He'll live." I sighed a breath of relief. "They got you back here to heal fully. Your rib may hurt for a couple days but nothing too serious."
"R-Rhion?" A voice from the door asked. Asriel and Midna were in the door way. Asriel ran over to me and gave me a hug.
"I thought you were a goner." I gently pat his head.
"It's okay. I'm alright." Midna cleared her throat.
"I'm glad you're okay. When I couldn't get in I grabbed the others but... well I'm glad you're okay." I ruffled her hair.
"Thanks Midna. So, I guess we're even." She nodded.
"Okay guys," Moogle intervened, "let's let Rhion get some rest." They nodded and left me alone.
I woke up in the middle of the night with Marshtop by my feet.
"Guess you can't really snuggle with me anymore." I felt someone climbing on the bed.
"Asriel? What are you doing?" Asriel curled up next to me.
"Well, I don't want you to be alone. So I'm staying here." I gently laugh and wrap my arms around him.
"Thank you."A dark smoke filled the castle room. Gannondorf appears very weak. He manages to sit in his throne. Rhion is incredibly strong, but she cannot defeat me. She is no hero of time. Zant runs in and kneels.
"Master, the girl?"
"She is no concern of me." Zant looked at Gannondorf's wounds.
"My lord-"
"Don't say about it. Now, retrieve the orb." Zant takes a step back.
"My lord are you certain? She may not-"
"Are you questioning your master?"
"N-no."
"Than retrieve the orb. This is a special case for Cia."A few chapters? Ha! This is the end! I will write a sequel but I don't know how soon yet. I'll update this when it's up. Thanks for reading to the end. I'll try to make the next book better. Until then, bye.
