Accidental Love//Phan

Chapter 5

**Next day**
Dan's POV
Phil has now said that he is going to walk me to school this morning so now I can't sleep in and be late. At least I can help Ryan with his math homework. See Ryan isn't really all good at math and we can't afford a tutor as he already goes to a private school so I have to try my hardest to help him with what I know, even though he is only in year 7 it can be still challenging as he doesn't listen to me. Even though me doing this he still doesn't show any kind of improvement but he is my little brother and I can't give up on him.

I burst open his door and run into his room with a drum and start playing at loudly.

"TIME TO GET UP, STUDY TIME STUDY TIME"I chime whilst jumping on him like a 5 year old on Christmas.

"DAN!! You're not 3 get off me" he whines

"But you have a test coming up for math and I'm sure of it your teacher gave you homework to do" I say with a cheeky grin putting the drum down and sit next to him.

"Ugh but Dan I don't want to do school work at-" He replies and checks his phone "7 in the morning"

"Well I don't care, I'm leaving in an hour so get up and get ready fast. I will be down stairs with your breakfast" I say going out the door

"Wait why so early?" He says in a shocked tone

"Someone I met yesterday said he is going to walk me to school" I yell up the stairs.

Phil's POV
Dan and I are currently walking to school but he seems a bit well like he has his head in the clouds. Maybe he is tired, yep that's probably it. Our walk has been mostly silent apart from Dan's silent humming of a song, it sounds familiar but I can't put a name to it.

"What song are you humming?" I say quietly trying not to break the silence too rapidly.

"Pardon?" He says popping his head up

"Oh um the song, what is it?" I repeat

"Oh yeah" he giggles "Photograph by Ed Sheeran, I know it might seem like a surprise an 'Emo' kind of guy listening to him but I like his songs."

"I love that song, he is one of my favourite artists" I say arriving at the school gates

As we walk in I see Andrew and bunch of other people gathering at the front gate as if waiting for something or... someone. Andrew looks around and to see Dan. As soon as he saw Dan he whipped around and starts to walk towards us. I look around to see Dan frozen on the spot, his eyes filled with fear.

"What's wrong" I ask but get no reply on a slight whimper as Andrew grew nearer

"I-I think you should le-leave Phil, I don't want you getting involved wi-th my problems" Dan says still frozen

Andrew comes up to us and just stands there staring at us almost studying us.

"Daniel well if it isn't you. You know you weren't supposed to take that joke seriously" He cackles holding his stomach

I look down at Dan who has now hunched over, shivering in Andrew's presence. I have never seen someone so frightened of a person before.

"So it was you that put the notes in our lockers" I yell standing up for Dan who is now looking at me.

"Phil don-"

I put my arm in front of him gesturing him to not talk

"I cannot believe you Daniel, you thought that someone would actually want to be YOUR Valentine like look at yourself your shivering" Andrew continues to laugh

I hear the bell chime and the students around us all start to head off to their first class, but I decide to stay out until everyone leaves as I don't want to move Dan around in his condition. I hear tiny sniffles coming from behind me, I turn to see Dan still hunched over but now crying. How could someone just stand there and watch someone go through what Dan is going through right now and want to make it worse

"There is point in crying, your only crying of self-pity, I am only telling the truth am I right Phil?" Andrew asks me

I go over to Dan attempt to calm him down "Actually no Andrew I don't agree with you, maybe if you looked a little more closely at Dan and not always pick out his flaws you will see him for who he actually is and not see him in the way you want to see him" I yell at Andrew helping Dan to walk due to his panic attack "Now if you excuse me I think we all have a class to go to"

"Oooo look Daniel you have a little protector, well think again because he might be here now but when you're alone you will have no one!" I hear him sing and yell from behind

I walk Dan to my class because I don't think Dan is in the right mind to be on his own at the moment.

"Phil?" I hear Dan say weakly hanging off my shoulder

I guide him over to a silver seat out front of my classroom; I sit him down and hold his hands for comfort.

"I'm here don't worry Andrew is gone now" I say in a soothing voice

"Th-ank you for standing up for me b-back there, I didn't know what to do so I just went into complete sh-shut down" he stutters from crying

"It's okay Dan I'm here if you need a friend. Whenever and where ever" I say bringing him into a hug.

I soon feel something warm on my shirt, then Dan starts to shake a little. He was crying I squeeze him tighter to try and calm him down. He didn't get better. I hear the door to the classroom slam open.

"PHIL?! There you are now get into class NOW!" Mrs Taylor yelled which causes Dan to bury his face further into my neck for comfort

"I'm really sorry Mrs but if I could have a couple more minutes, he isn't really okay at this point" I whisper

"Oh Phil I'm sorry I didn- you know forget it, when he has calmed down bring him into my class and he can spend the morning with you" she says walking quietly back into the room

Dan still hasn't calmed down yet so I guess I'll be a while

"Did you hear that you can be with me for the morning so you can fully calm down" I whisper in his ear.

I suddenly remember Dan's favourite song, 'Photograph'. I begin humming it slowly and surprisingly Dan was calming down a lot.

Loving can hurt... Loving can hurt sometimes
But it's the only thing that I know...
When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive

I slowly sing to him, rocking back and forth with Dan still in my arms.

HIYA GUYS, I finally finished term one yay only 3 more to go but this means I can write more frequently and update more. I am aiming to write a chapter everyday and upload every 3 days so look forward to that

Dan and phil are going to be 2 hours away from me next week, and I can't see them *cries in a corner*.
