Phil's POV
Dan stayed for a little bit longer after when Chris left to get ready for our little hang out tonight so we decided to show each other what we like to do. I pulled out the Wii and put in Mario Kart
"Mario Kart, almost impossible to beat me in" I laughed
"Almost? yeah better put that in there as after when we are finished here you will be on the ground begging for mercy" Dan joked
We played a couple of races and as what Dan said before he did beat me at EVERY race. I thought that I was the king at Mario Kart but not after I raced Dan, he is a pro at it. It turns out he plays it with his brother all the time so there's my problem.
Dan showed me his favourite anime after we finished Mario kart "Attack on Titan" is the anime he showed me. We watched one episode and I fell in love with it instantly. Before Dan left he gave me a website to watch them all on so we could discuss it when we are stuck for conversation starters.
Now that Dan has left all I have been doing is watching the anime so I am now in the middle of the season. I pick up my phone and read the time '5:30'
"CRAP I have to leave in half an hour" I say to myself before turning the TV off
I get out a nice button up shirt, blue with white spots and decide to wear my black skinny jeans again. I quickly put them on and walk across the hall to the bathroom. I grab my comb and quickly run it through my hair tidying my fringe up before I hear my front door click shut.
"Mum and Dad must be home" I say walking out of the bathroom
As I am just about to go into my room to grab my phone and keys when I hear quiet sobbing and whispering coming from down stairs in the lounge. Me being the curious type I am and slowly make my way down stairs.
"Honey it will be okay calm down" I hear dad say to mum
I walk down the stairs a little more so my parents are in view and I see that my mum is crying and Dad is trying to calm her down. Did something happen whilst they were out? Did someone die in our family? I don't want to disturb them so I decide to quickly run back up stairs but then the stairs creaked. The sound made me freeze in my tracks
"Phil? Is that you?" I hear mum say behind me
I slowly turn around and walk into the lounge "Yeah it's me, sorry if I disturbed you I can go back up stairs if you want me to" I politely say
"Phil no don't go um we need to tell you something" dad says pointing to the chair in front of them both
I take the seat and look at them " I heard mum crying before has something happened?" I ask
They both look at each other before mum decides to tell me "well do you know how your father gets extremely confused and very bad headaches?"
"Ahhh yeah, we just narrowed that down to tiredness didn't we?" I ask
Why is mum telling me this and using such a soft tone like doctors do when they tell you bad news. There's nothing wrong with dad we already know that
"Phil... your dad isn't tired. We went to the doctors a while ago to find out why this is happening and we got the results back today" mum says in the voice again and her eyes start to water and so does Dad
I look at them both confused
"Phil son, I have Brain cancer..."

Authors note: hiya guys so PLOT TWIST! I know I'm evil-ish but hey it creates drama and problems, for those who write know that it's fun to do this but obvisoulsy not in a rude way.
