I stared down at the my pale skin. The color had completely left my face. I tried touching my hand but only felt the same air I am surrounded in.

Ethan was sat in a chair besides my bed. He was gripping onto my hand like it was his lifeline. His eyes never left my face. He's been here since as long as I can remember.

I tried rubbing a tear away from his cheek with my thumb but it was as if I was hallucinating. My hand never touched his cheek and I couldn't feel the warmth that he's always held.

A few tears streamed down my cheeks and I collapsed to the ground.

I was wearing a white nightgown and my red hair shined in the light, flowing perfectly down my chest.

I stared at my hands but then I stared at the person next to me in the bed. That was me. Or was this me?

I can't comprehend anything right now. A sudden tap on my shoulder pulled me out of my thoughts.

I turned around to face a little girl that was six or so. She was a breathtaking view. She looked like an angel.

She shared my same green eye color. Her hair was fairly wavy and extremely long. It was a dark brown and her eyebrows for some reason reminded me of Ethan. They were perfectly arched and shaped.

"Who are you?" I asked confused.

"Mykayla..." she smiled slightly at me.

She reminded me of my sister. Her name,  Mykayla.

"Who am I?" I asked, confused.

"You're in a dream state, a dimension between life and death." she answered. This must be some mad dream or I must be dead because the body I own right now cannot be me. I don't even know what's happening right now. I feel like I'm in a lifetime movie.

"I'm sorry to sound rude, but why are you here?" I asked. The girl looked up into my eyes with a bright smile.

"To help you..." she stated.

"You can't help me..." I paused. "I don't even know what's going on myself..."

She grabbed my hand and smiled at me,  pulling me up from the floor.

"And that's why I'm here to help you..." she stated.

"Am I dead?" I asked her, confused.

"If you want to be, then yes. But you don't have to die." she told me.

It's been a week and I still was in this sort of dream state. My mind has been messing with me,  I know it. There is no way this could be real life.

The little girl, Mykayla has been by my side since day one. She's helped me understand what's happened and why I'm here but I still don't know who she is.

I was sitting on one side of my hospital room watching Ethan stare at my limp body lovingly.

A tear made it's way down his cheek and I so badly wanted to wipe it away but I couldn't reach him.

Mykayla stood next to Ethan. Their similarities were uncanny.

She wiped away at the tear on his cheek, "I wish daddy wouldn't cry..."

My expression changed, "Daddy?"

Mykayla looked at me with a smile on her face and nodded, "Do you finally know who I am?"

"Are you my daughter?" I asked and she nodded her head running over to hug me.

"But why? How?" I asked, stunned.

"I don't know.... I just know I'm your daughter..." she stated.

I rubbed her hair in comfort. Then tears began to stream down my face.

I always felt this connection with her. Like I was closer than just a friend. Turns out I'm pregnant. I've been wanting to wake up out of my coma for the past two weeks. But now I don't know. Something is changing my mind. But I'm pregnant, I need to wake up. Plus Ethan. I don't know what could be pulling me...

It has been almost three weeks and I still can't decide. I haven't awoken yet. Mykayla has been right by my side, day in and day out. I have grown close to her in a motherly relationship.

Now I can tell just from looking at her that she is mine and Ethan's. She looks a lot like Ethan but also a lot like me.

We were walking down the hospital hall,  her small hand in mine. She smiled at her surroundings even though she was in a hospital surrounded by sick patients.

"Mommy look..." she pointed ahead of us.

Only a few feet in front of us was the brightest light I've ever seen. It was almost pulling me in. My footsteps started slow but became a bit faster. Mykayla and I approached the light hand in hand.

We were nearly centimeters away from the bright light when I heard a loud shout.

Julie!  Don't leave me!  Please...

Ethan...
