Three days had quickly passed, with no changes to Ellie or Elijah. The paparazzi having finally found out about what was going on, was now trying to catch the scoop. I heard that magazines were willing to pay close to a million dollars for the first person to get a picture of Ellie and Elijah and bring them news on their wellbeing. Because of this, security was tightened, no phones and no cameras were allowed on hospital grounds, and every member of the staff was threatened with a hefty lawsuit if they were to talk to the press.

Just yesterday, someone posing as a nicu nurse tried to sneak in, the hospital moved Elijah to a private room that was connected to Ellie's, set it up like a nicu and assigned him his own personal doctor and nurses that gave him around the clock care twenty-four seven.

This I wasn't bothered by, for the fact it meant my son...our son was now just feet from us.

I had just finished eating my chicken pho when my phone began ringing. I quickly answered it.

"Hello?" I spoke into the receiver.

"Mr. Taptiklis, this is Margot Femwell, calling with the results of that paternity test." I held my breath as my heart began beating rapidly. "We double and triple checked the results just to be sure, and they are as thus, you are not the father."

I let out a breath of relief and ran my hand down my face as I grinned. "That's wonderful news."

"We did receive a second blood source from your PI, and it has come back as positive for paternity." She responded.

I nodded my head. "Do you by any chance know of the individuals name?" I pressed.

"A Mr. Jefferey Dean Morgan. I shouldn't even be telling you this, but with all that is going on in your life, I feel like it's the least I can do. Have a good day, sir." She said before I heard a click that ended the phone call.

I pocketed my phone and leaned back into my chair before I took another deep breath and released it. I wasn't the father. Grace's plan had failed. I just felt bad for Jeffery, seemed like a decent guy, but he didn't see Grace for what she was before it was too late.

I leaned forward towards Ellie's hospital bed and took her hand into mine before bringing it to my lips.

"I'll be back, very soon." I said and then rose to my feet to go and see my son before I headed back to the house.

Pulling up outside my house a sense of relief filled me. It was as if I was in a euphoric state, knowing that soon this drama with Grace would be nothing but a bad memory of treachery and deceit. As I walked inside I addressed each of the staff, letting them know their assignment had ended - the last, the chef who was just about to start lunch for Grace.

Half-running up the stairs I opened the bedroom door and looked at Grace who was sitting on the window seat drinking what smelled like tea.

"Good news, you are free to go." I said as I casually leaned against the door frame.

Grace glanced over to me as she set her cup down. "I'm allowed to leave the room?" She asked, a smile on her face.

I gave a curt nod. "Hell, you could leave the house if you want to. Actually, you are leaving the house." I glanced at my watch. "And you have ten minutes to do so. I called an uber and it should be waiting for you, ready to take you anywhere."

"Wait... what?" She said, a confused expression replacing her smile.

I crossed my arms and stood up. "Results came back this morning, they double and triple checked, I'm not the father, Jefferey is. Congratulations."

"Congratulations? For what?" She sneered as her eyes began to water.

"Congrats on keeping your demonic hooks in the a-list game. Jefferey is an a-list celebrity, so despite your failure at this plan, you still won. Just a shame that you had to screw over decent people in order to achieve it."
