Ellie dozed off shortly after we had finished. Though we have had sex numerous times in the past this time was different. Ellie was different.

The Ellie I knew before the car accident and the Ellie I was getting to know after the coma were practically two different people.

This Ellie, the new one, her guards seemed to be down, unlike her predecessor. Only time would tell though, if this was a permanent thing for her. Part of me felt like once her memory returned to normal, so would she.

I wanted more than everything for her to heal completely and return to normal, but I loved her and the way she was now, how she was towards me, I knew she loved me too.

There was a possibility that we could make something real out of this, and real with her was what I wanted.

I gently grazed the back of my hand across her face before tucking her hair behind her ear. Despite what had happened to her she seemed to hold together pretty well for the most part.

But she didn't know yet that she had a... we had a son and his name was Elijah, or that her parents died while on their way to be with her after the incident. I knew they were the only family she had left after she lost her sisters, and now there was no one. No one but me.

Could I be enough for her to help her get through this? Did she love me enough to allow me to be that for her? Part of me didn't want to find out, but then the other part... a very minuscule part of me wanted to tell her right away so she could break down and I can begin helping her rebuild through it all.

"No matter what." I whispered to her while she was sleeping. "No matter what, I am here for you." I pressed my lips to her forehead and laid down beside her, gently pulling her into my arms before I closed my eyes.

Her nurse was supposed to come shortly, but they would ring me when they arrived so I could buzz them through the gates.

It didn't take long before I fell asleep and surely enough, what felt like minutes later, instead of the hour and a half that it actually had been, my phone was blaring its annoying ring tone.

"Yeah." I yawned into the phone.

The second I heard the nurse announce her presence I reached over to the bed side table and pressed the button that opened the gates.

"What is it, Theo?" Ellie said as I rose from the bed and pulled on my boxers and shorts before I helped her get dressed.

"Your nurse is here." Once I had pulled her sun dress down over her head and it covered her body the front doorbell rang and I pressed the intercom button. "Come on in. We are upstairs, first door on the left." I said to the nurse before opening my bedroom door.

"Why exactly do I need a nurse?" She asked me as I helped her move into a sitting position on the bed.

Taking a seat on the edge I tucked her hair behind her ear. "Because, though you are awake you still aren't 100% where we want you. I just was tired of the hospitals, with everything that had gone on while you were in your coma. I was frightened for quite sometime that I would lose you and I wanted that all behind me."

She rose her hand up to brush my cheek and smiled. "I love you too much to leave you forever. I'm pretty sure I loved you the second I opened my eyes on that beach and realized you had saved me." She said with a smile on her face as she looked deeply in my eyes.

My eyebrows pulled together creating a crease on my forehead as I looked at her. "What?" I breathed.

"The beach, you remember, the 4th of July when I fell over the pier. You jumped in and pulled me out." She giggled a bit. "Are you sure you aren't the one with the memory problem." She teased, and I faked a laugh.
