I wiped my eyes as I came out of the bathroom. Jeff was standing right there and I tried to walk past him but he stopped me.
"You really need to stop crying. You asked me to stop caring and I have you what you wanted? What else could you possibly want?" Jeff asked kind of rudely. "What else do I want?" I asked him. He nodded. "I want you to stop being so rude to me. I'm human. I can't live with you giving me glares on the hallways. I pushed you away for a reason." I told him.
"When you give me a good enough reason as to why you don't want me in your life, i will leave you alone completely. No more glares or anything." Jeff spoke bluntly.
"Because. Everyone who comes into my life either gets hurt or I'm the one getting hurt." I told him. "I don't care if I get hurt. It'll be worth it in the end." Jeff said taking my hand. "You're so fucking confusing Atkinson." I told him. "A few days ago you hated me." I frowned.
"That's because I was mad and didn't know why you did what you did." Jeff looked in my eyes as I looked away not wanting to get attached to his beautiful eyes. "You did it because you were scared to loose your brother. You needed someone to be there for you." He said. I felt myself tear up again. I was going through a whole bunch of shit when that rumor got out. I was failing school, I had no friends, I wanted attention.
"You didn't know that it would get out of hand. You weren't the only reason Hannah killed herself. Other people were doing it too." Jeff said pulling me closer to him.
"How do you know all of this?" I asked. He couldn't have known that information unless he heard the tapes. But, he wasn't on them so how would he know?
"Clay-" he cut himself off and whispered, "Clay, told me about the tapes." He said. I gasped. "You didn't tell anyone did you?" I asked a bit panicked.
"No. Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me." He smiled.
"Get to class love birds." Alex rolled his eyes. I giggled gently.
