I sat there in Mr. Porters office as my heart raced. I didn't know what he was going to ask. What if he knew about the tapes?

"Brooke Welsh." He simply said sitting down as he looked at some folder. He looked up. "Your brother used to date Hannah Baker, is that correct?" He asked. "Yes, for a bit." I nodded and played with my fingers in my lap. I was so screwed but I needed to play it cool.

"Did they have a bad break up?" He asked. "Well, my brother was older than her and he graduated last year so he wanted to move on with his life. He also had some trust issues." I spoke truthfully. As long as he didn't ask about Hannah and I's friendship then I would be fine.

"Trust issues?" Mr. Porter furrowed his eyebrows. "Yeah, he thought he couldn't trust her and that she was messing with other guys." I leaned back in the chair. He nodded writing things down. "Okay, were you friends with Hannah?" He asked. I nodded biting my lip. "Yeah, but we drifted when her and my brother broke up." I told him. He wrote more things down. He nodded and cleared his throat.

"Okay, you are free to go back to class." Mr. Porter wrote a slip and handed it to me. I nodded and walked out of his office breathing heavily. I walked out of the front office and down the hall seeing Jeff standing near a locker. He walked quickly over to me and I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Jeff, I'm gonna be so screwed." I whispered into his shirt as I hugged him. "Babe, what happened?" He asked. "He asked me about Hannah and I did fine and told him the truth. He didn't know about the rumor I spread but I can't keep it a secret anymore." I stopped and took a breath. "I'm scared that I am gonna say the wrong thing one day." I finished and held onto him. He pulled away and took my hands.

"Breathe." Jeff said and I nodded and breathed as best as I could. "We will get through this. I am gonna be here for you." He told me. I nodded. "I don't deserve you." I mumbled and pecked his lips. He smiled. "Well you have me so deal with it." He smiled and I kissed him softly totally forgetting we were in the school hallway.

Jeff kissed back and pulled away after a few seconds. "Okay, I am literally trying so hard not to make out with you right now so I should get to class. Meet me out front after school, okay?" He grinned. I giggled and nodded pecking his lips once more. "I'll see you later." I said and walked down the hall to my class.

I knew I had a good one.
