We pulled up to Brooklyn's house and there was barely parking. I estimated about twenty cars, never mind the people. Fortunately we found a parking space but it was quite narrow. Lucas didn't care, he just wanted to get inside already. There were a few people on the front lawn and some in their cars. The ones in the cars were obviously doing it. I made sure to look away as we walked between the cars to get to the front gate. There stood a tall, muscular guy in all black. He must have been the bouncer or something. Lucas and I were about to walk through when he stopped us.
"Sorry. It's too full." He said and stood in front of us.
"Seriously?" I raised my voice.
"Yeah it is." The guy grunted.
"Come on, please." I begged. "What's two more people?"
The guy shook his head at us and crossed his arms.
"Carl!" A voice shouted from behind me.
I turned to find that boy I bumped into on my first day of school. He seemed different, maybe it was to do with a smile on his face. Something I never thought he knew or was capable of doing. I scanned him from top to bottom as he walked towards us. He had a black adidas skinny with a white t-shirt and plain black bomber jacket. His sneakers caught my interest when it was the latest adidas that I saw on the ads. It was breathtaking.
The boy walked passed me like he didn't remember and completely ignored Lucas and I.
"Hunter!" The bouncer exclaimed and pulled him in for a bro hug.
I widened my eyes. What? The mysterious yet gorgeous guy that I bumped against was Hunter? I guess it made sense. He was a complete douche.
The bouncer sent Hunter through and my jaw dropped.
"What?" I exclaimed at the bouncer, causing Hunter to turn around. "You let him in but not us?" I pointed Hunter's way and he glared at me.
"He's Hunter." The bouncer shrugged, like that explained everything.
"What if we gave you a little something-something?" Lucas winked and flashed him five dollars.
The bouncer glared at Lucas. "So you think I'm bribable and don't got morals? Huh?"
"No of course not." I apologised and made Lucas put the money back.
Hunter had a grin plastered on his face as he saw what happened and walked back towards us. "Let them in Carl. What's two more people gonna do?"
And just like that, the bouncer let us in. Hunter gave the man a nod and walked alongside us.
"Thanks." Lucas nodded.
"No problem." Hunter said and looked my way. As if he's waiting for me to thank him as I well.
I rolled my eyes. "Why should I thank you? I'm not grateful."
We stopped just in front of the entrance door and heard the loud music playing. Hunter took a step closer to me till I was aware of the little space between us and how good he smelled. I inhaled a whiff of him and it was divine. Hunter leaned in, making my heart pound. It felt so loud that I was afraid he could hear it. My palms were sweaty as I clenched them. My eyes drifted to his lips and how kissable they looked in the moonlight. He was inches away when I thought that he was going to kiss me. Oh no. I wanted to move away or smack the living hell out of him but it felt as if my body froze and I couldn't move. I felt possessed as I stood there. My body hadn't received the instructions that my mind was implementing.
