Hunter's POV

Yesterday was one of the worst days of my life and the pain still lingers right now but I have to be strong. I have to be strong for Emma. I don't like bothering people with my problems anyway. Whatever happened to her clearly upset her and if I can make one person happy, it would make me feel better... and I really want to feel better.

"Where do you want to go?" I asked her

She just shrugged her shoulders. "Any fucking where...wait my house rather. I need my bed and no one will be home."

I knew that she was upset but I couldn't help but smile whenever I heard her curse. She made such a rude word seem so sweet and soft.

"Why are you smiling?" She furrowed her brows at me which made me chuckle. I couldn't bare her knowing why so I just said the first thing that came to mind.

"Happy to see you being a badass for once."

"I can be bad."

I shook my head at her and slowed down as the robot ahead was red.

"I don't think so." I turned to her and gazed into her eyes.

The sadness in her eyes seemed to disappear which I was grateful for. Now I saw mischief and excitement. "Fine!" She raised her hands up in surrender. "Wanna see?"

I brought my eyes to her breast and smirked. "Hell fucking yeah." I teased because I enjoyed making her blush even though I knew what she meant.

Her cheeks reddened as she punched my arm, which she did whenever I made her nervous. I chuckled at how cute she was when she blushed. Emma was different and I sat looking at her in awe. She was utterly beautiful, how her eyes lit up when she smiled and how she'd laugh at her own jokes as if it was the funniest thing in the world. Suddenly I snapped out of thought when the man behind me hooted loudly.

"Hunter the robot!" Emma exclaimed.

"Fuck!" I barked and stepped on the gas and cruised over the robot. My speed increased which made Emma's eyes shot wide open as she clung to her seatbelt.

"Please slow down." She whimpered.

I smirked. "That's what she said."

Emma giggled at my comment which was gratifying. All I wanted to do was make her laugh and cheer her up.

I pulled up in front of Emma's driveway since she said that no one would be home. We got out of the car and I locked it. Emma slung her gym bag over her shoulder and I tugged on it.

"It's fine, I'll carry it." I flashed her my dazzling smile.

"You don't have to"

"But I want to." I told her and took the heavy load off of her shoulders. Literally.

We walked into her house and she dashed into the kitchen. Emma grabbed a whole bunch of stuff ranging from chips to sweets and two cans of coke from the fridge.

"We can go up to my room."

I nodded and followed her up the stairs into her bedroom.
