Chapter 13 - Part 1 (Sky)

"The Soultris Festival is coming up, stop working for once and come set up and relax a bit." Ty was trying to convince me to help them with the upcoming festival, just to get my mind off the work and demands that had been piling up from the other kingdoms.

"Ty, stop. You know I can't right now!" I said. He frowned. "Do it for me?" He asked softy with the most adorable look on his face. "Fine. But only because I love you." I said and kissed him on the forehead as he smiled brightly.

Damn your adorableness Ty. Okay, we aren't officially dating, because the guys would tell everyone within the first five second of hearing it, but we love each other like boyfriends.

Ty dragged me out of my room and out of the house we rented until ours was fixed. He brought me to the town square where the rest of the team was waiting. "Finally!" Mitch whined. I rolled my eyes then noticed a little girl cowering behind him. Only she wasn't clinging to him.

I crouched down to her level, "And whom might you be?"
"..Five thirteen one," She said. "I mean Ema!"
"Mitch," I looked up at him, waiting for him to explain.
"Ema is the daughter of an old friend who wanted me to take care of her for a while." Something was wrong.
I looked back to Ema and smile, "Would you like to help us with the festival, Ema?"
"Yes!" She squealed, and I thought she would have done something like throw her arms in the air from how excited she was, but they stayed limp at her sides.

Out of the corner of my vision I saw Seto mouth, "they don't work." Mitch picked Ema up and put her on his back, her arms draping over his shoulders, as I stood and we started towards the plains. When we arrived, I thought it would have been happier than a giant, monstrous entity with a barcode number on it's neck attacking the people that were setting up the festival grounds.

Well, this is why I always have a sword on hand. I draw my sword and silently approach the entity. It spins around as I slice through it and it falls to the ground, dead. I turn around as I sheath my sword and begin to walk towards my friends,

"GENERAL, WATCH OUT!"

I drop to the ground as the entity's claws pass over my head. I get to my knees and glare at it then see it wasn't aiming for me.

It was aiming for the recruit that warned me.

The recruit was trapped in it's claws, struggling until the thing pierced their stomach with it's claw. OH NOW THAT THING HAS CROSSED THE LINE! I growl and run at it, ramming my body to it's arm. A disgusting snap sounds out as it screeched in pain and dropped the recruit. I caught them and ran to Seto, passed them to him before shoving him back towards the others, and got launched at a tree.

"SKY!" Ty yells.
"Stay out of it! It's after me, no one else need to get hurt!" I order.

It goes to attack me again, but before it can reach me I quickly draw my sword an slice it's hand off. An iron sword was thrown at me, slicing through the entity's shoulder before lodging itself in the tree, right beside my head. I give Ty a thankful glance and he smiles at me as I yank the sword out of the tree. The thing approaches me and I cut off it's other hand and part of it's arms. It stumbles back and I slash it down, stabbing it's head repeatedly after it falls to the ground in pieces just to be sure.

I begin to walk back to the team when something grabs my ankle. Before I can see what it is, I'm thrown through a tree and into a boulder, making me cough up blood. No major injuries, though. I stood back up and stumbled back to the clearing before coughing up more blood and falling to my knees.

And Ema screams. Her eyes glow a silvery white as everyone is shoved away from her. There I realised the entity has reformed itself. She begins walking towards it as rocks and leaves fly absolutely everywhere.

"No one hurts my friends," The entity starts lifting in the air.
"No one hurts their recruits," The thing looks like it's starting to choke.
"No one messes with me," It begins to get crushed.
"And NO ONE tries to kill the people I care about!" It exploded and didn't reform.

Everything dropped to the ground as Ema's eyes changed back. She looked around, "What happened?"
