SHE IS LAYING NAKED beneath satin sheets, her limbs tangled with a soft and content smile on her face. The smell of breakfast reached her senses as she sits up on her bed, stomach grumbling in response. Her eyes traveled to the clothes laying on the floor messily, reminding her of the events of the previous knight and the thoughts warm her cheeks. Gaining the strength, her legs reach the floor and she grabs his large white shirt, throwing it on her body before walking out of the room with wobbly feet.

When she heard his hums from the kitchen, a familiar smile curved her lips. Bliss began to fill every inch of her body. But as she got closer, she realized that the hums were actually part of a conversation. She leaned against the corridor of the kitchen, watching as he pressed his phone to his ear, speaking in hushed tones.

She can almost imagine him humming to a random song as he strands next to the stove, cooking something for the both of them. But it not a sweet melody that meets her as she gets closer. Instead, he is talking in hushed tones with his phone clutches to his ear. She leans against the doorway of the kitchen, waiting for him to take notice of her.

"She's still asleep. I don't know if I can make it."

All she wants is to return to bed, to spent the day with his body covering hers perfectly.

"We'll meet tonight. Don't call this number again at this time, she might pick up." She is able to make out those words as he ends the call.

She finds it weird how recurring these phone calls are. When he gets them, he would always pull away from her to answer and grumble something about work under his breath. She had tried to listen one time and he had gone livid, screaming at her that she did not trust him enough while she tried to calm him down. It wasn't that she didn't trust him, she just wanted to know if everything was okay at work. From then on, she did not interfere and the phone calls continued with her complying with his needs. He would kiss her on the cheek quickly and then be gone for long, lonely hours.

His hands would curl around her neck gently, pulling her in for a deep kiss when the person on the other end of the line was questioned. "It's not important, baby." And everything would be forgotten once again.

"I'll see you tonight then. I love you."

The smile is wiped off her face in a quick, painful motion. With her head spinning and screaming at her to take notice of what was right in front of her, she raises her gaze.

"You're awake." Jungkook sounds surprised when he finds her standing before him, like a deer caught in headlights.

It was like she had never seen him before, a strange unfamiliarity passed between them. The sight of him made her stomach churn, not in the way that it used to. This was a kind of change that made her sick to the stomach. The memories of the beginning of their relationship began to form a mash in which she saw the two of them through.

Burying her doubt and suspicions, she rose on her tippy toes to press a chaste kiss to his lips, pretending as if she did not know that his lips were not hers only.

"Come back to bed." She tugs on his arm, trying to ignore the way that his eyes keep drifting to his phone.

"I wish I could, darling." Her loving boyfriend made an appearance again, but she saw threw his glass figure.

"But I have work. I'm sorry."

Pushing back the relieved sigh, she nodded in fake understanding. Whether she could bear to sleep with him again, she was not sure.

So when he left their apartment, the hesitations and doubt piled up until she was grabbing her own car keys. She did not know what possessed her to follow him to the coffee shop that night, making it so that her friend and her were meeting up as well. She needed for something to tell her that she was being ridiculous, and that there was nothing to be worried about.

But as they stood in front of the entrance, they saw Jungkook sitting in the middle tables, in plain view.

His hands were intertwined with a woman's, and rested in the middle of the table, as if showing off their relationships for the entire world to see. When the waiter moved away from their table, she saw the brightest expression curl her boyfriend's face. A sight she had not seen in a long time. He was clearly happier in the middle of a coffee shop with a woman that was not his girlfriend.

Maybe it was a friend. Or a cousin. Or a co-worker- no, it was an ex.

"He's such a dick. Wait until I get my hands on that-" She held out a hand, when her best friend began fuming by her side.

She was attractive. And everything she was not, with red painted lips, and strikingly sharp features and long legs. And she was laughing at something your boyfriend of three years was saying, the man that you had loved.

With trembling hands, she reached for her phone, dialing the first number of her call history. Through the clear class, she sees Jungkook glance briefly at the screen, before shaking his head and returning the phone to his back pocket. She watched herself be discarded, pathetically.

"Fuck." Her voice was low and held power for the first time in forever. "Fuck!" She screamed in horror, ignoring the way that pedestrians stopped to give her a dirty look.

Jungkook only caught sight of her when he turned his head to the side, her horrified face as clear as day to him. She was glaring, with disgust lining her expression. A swear left his lips in a murmur as he bolted up from his seat, sprinting out of the shop.

"How could you do this to her?" Her best friend was blocking his path, as she got further and further away from him.

Ignoring her, he picked up his pace, trying to catch up to her and grabbed her forearm to bring them to a halt. She ripped her skin away from his as if he had burned her.

"Don't you dare fucking touch me." She seethed out, fury filling her words. Jungkook's jaw hung open at the words. The obscene bouts of anger made it easier to say everything that she needed to say.

"You saw." He finalized.

"Oh yes! I was fortunate enough to see my boyfriend of three years with his ex. This has truly been the greatest fucking day!" She began, her rage apparent. "How can you live with yourself? You were with me last night and you're with her the following day!"

"No- I love you." He tried to argue.

"Are you sure about that, Jungkook?" She spat his name out with venom and he winced at her fiery expression.

He nodded his head, instead, pleading to her with his eyes. "Yes, yes. I love you."

"Are you in love with me?" She asked, staring into his warm and deceiving eyes.

"I love you-" He repeated.

"Answer my question, Jungkook."

And the answer that she was terrified of came. "I- I thought I was." Tears fell from her eyes, dropping to the floor as her heart shattered.  "It just happened. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Old feelings just resurfaced and I couldn't- I still have feelings for you. Strong ones. Even when I was with her, you were at the back of my mind. Please don't cry. Don't cry, just look at me." He tried to reason with her. He tried to touch her face but his frown deepened when she stepped away from him.

"You're not in love with me." She repeated, her mind finally wrapping around the idea.

I thought I was.

"This entire time, I thought that you and I were in love. But it's always been her, hasn't it?" She asked even though she knew the answer full well.

"I care for you! I care about you so much-"

"Then why the fuck are you with her?" Her yell caught him off guard and he stood staring at her, leaving him with nothing to say in return. Nothing that could soothe her aching heart.

"I'll call it off with her. I'll stop. Just- please-"

When she found her courage to stare into his eyes, she felt everything at once. His petrified gaze did nothing to soften her resolve and she said, "Jungkook, I've never been yours. Not once. All this time, it's been her"
