some bad news and an idea to help

Today was the day I was finally going to meet up with Kyle and Tyler! I was so excited. The boys were amused by my behaviour, probably because I was never this excited before...or ever really. Hey, you can't blame me that I miss my friends, yea I have Trevor and the boys and Meghan, but I miss Kyle and Tyler, we've never been apart for so long. :(

At 1pm I grab a bite to eat before leaving my house to meet up with Kyle and Tyler at a park nearby. "Boo!" I screamed falling off the bench I was on. I looked up to see both boys laughing their asses off. "Wow, thanks." I said sarcastically pushing myself off the ground,"No problem Rachey." He said and I growled at the name. "Never call me that again." I warn pointing my finger at Kyle,

"I've missed you?" He questioned and I smiled bringing them both into a hug, "Finally, I can hug you again." I praised making us laugh. "We've missed you too RaeRae." Tyler said using one of my old nicknames. "What do yous wanna do?" I ask as we all sit on the bench just fitting, they looked at each other before looking at me, "Well first..." Kyle said as they both handed me an envelope. "What's this?" I ask looking at them confused,

"Your birthday present duh!! now open them." Tyler says excitedly, "I hate you guys." I laughed opening the first card. It was handmade, the card itself was blue and had a picture of the three of us sitting on the steps in the adoption centre on my 13th birthday, we were smiling happily and both my arms were slung over both their shoulders. I opened the card and a ticket fell out.

I lifted it off my lap and read it, "Free 1hr archery.." I didn't read the rest as I squealed, "No freaking way!" I say staring at the ticket again, "How?" "I know people," Kyle said smirking. "Open mine," Tyler whined and I giggled before opening his one. This card was also handmade, the card was green and had yet another picture of the three of us when we were around 5 and only learning how to skateboard. I opened it and another envelope was in it.

I looked at Tyler quizzically before shrugging and opening the card to find a voucher for 3 stores, Starbucks, any music store and any bookstore. they each had 30 dollars on it. "Holy crap thank you!" I say giving them both a hug. "Did you both bring your penny boards?" I ask and they nod bringing them out from behind the bench... how did I not notice this?

"Wanna go skate park? I think there's one 5 minutes away?" I ask and they agree. "RACE YA" Kyle screams speeding off. We race down until we find the skate park and wow its big. We walk up to the entrance and 2 guys probably 18 blocks it, "Where are you going, missy?" One of them says,

"I'm gonna skate, so you can either let me through or I'll jump the fence." I say pointing to the green fence that surrounded the entire skate park I was probably twice my size but I could probably jump it. "You? Jump that?" He said laughing at me, "Go ahead little girl cause it's the only way you're gonna get in." I handed my board to Kyle, "Let my friends in first." I say crossing my arms over my chest, "My pleasure." He says moving out of the way so Tyler and Kyle could get in.

"Now, off you go to the fence." The guy said gesturing with his hand for me to go, I smirk going up to the fence. A few minutes later I dropped to the ground on the other side of the fence, Kyle and Tyler came over to me handing me my penny board. "Now can we skate?" I ask the two boys whose mouths were wide open, "Y-ye, how did you do that?" One of them asked and I smirked, "Never underestimate a girl" I say as I walk off with Tyler and Kyle.

I was speeding down the tallest ramp in the skate park when suddenly someone screamed,"LOOK OUT!" A body bashed into mine sending both of us flying. I groaned in pain before slowly getting up off the ground and looking over to the person who I bashed into. I walked over to him my body aching all over. "Hey, are you ok?" I asked. The guy groaned in response before opening his eyes to look at me.

"Ugh, what the heck?" He asked rolling over as he tried to get up. "I-I'm sorry I didn't see you... do you need help getting up?" I asked offering my hand out to him. He looked at it weirdly before grabbing it. I pulled him off the ground and he was soon on his feet again."thanks." he mumbled rubbing the back of his head, "I'm Jett by the way." "I'm Rachel."

"Rachel! oh my god are you ok?" The guys come running up to me worried, "Yes I'm fine, I just wasn't looking where I was going." I explain and the boys calm down slightly. "See you around?" Jett asks and I smile nodding, "Definitely."

"I just don't get who he is." Kyle goes on for the fifth time. we were walking down to the music shop, I was going to see how everything was. We walked up to the door and just as I was about to walk I I saw a sign, "Closing down sale... what?" I said as I read the sign aloud. I pushed the door open and Vinny instantly welcomed me, "What's going on here Vinny? Why are you shutting down?" I asked ignoring his welcome.

"I can't pay all the bills and I barely get any customers... I have now choic-" "Yes you do have a choice! I can get you more customers, put up fliers and if there is still problems with money I'm sure we can make an event to help fund, the boys will help... yea the boys will help." I mumble at the end coming up with a plan. "Please give me a month, I'll raise enough money and get you more customers, please Vinny." I beg.

He sighs but after a while gives in, "Fine you have exactly one month to help this place out, but if we don't have enough I have to shut it down." He informs me. I nod sticking my hand out. "Deal."

At around 6 the boys and I go our separate ways. I reach home minutes later and immediately flop onto the couch. "Hey Rache, what's wrong?" Ricky asks as he leaves the kitchen, I sigh sadly before explaining everything. About how my favourite store is closing down and about how I told Vinny I would help and that he only gave me a month.

Ricky silently listened nodding throughout my explanation when needed. "I don't want the shop to close down. I-It was my home when I was at the adoption centre, I went there almost every day and got a job there so nobody could stop me from going. It can't shut down... it can't." I whispered at the end looking down at my hands. Ricky rubs my back calming me slightly, "I'm going to go up to my room. I need to think." I say.

Ricky smiles understandingly at me nodding, "The rest of the boys will be home soon with dinner, will I call you down?" He asks as I reach the staircase, "Yes please." I answer going up the stairs into my room. I grab a notepad and pens and start scribbling down ideas to help keep the music shop open.

I hear a knock on my door at Trevor enters, "Can I come in?" He asks poking his head in. I nod not lifting my eyes from the mess I created on the page as I try to design flyers. I feel the bed go down and I glance beside me to see Trevor looking at the notepad. "Ricky told us what happened, I'm sorry." he says giving me a side hug, "The boys and I will help you I any way possible." He says as I tear out the page I was working I and start afresh. "I just need time." I mumble stressed,

"Time and some great ideas on the side." I say starting to draw a music disc in the middle of the page, "Dinner is ready, take your time but you should get something to eat, it'll help you concentrate." He says patting my shoulder before getting off the bed and leaving my room. After ripping out this page I decide to go downstairs and eat something, Trevor's right, I need to stay focused. I grab my food and just before I about to go upstairs Connor calls me back into the living room.

"How's the ideas going?" He asks turning around in the sofa so he could see me, "Not great but I'll get somewhere hopefully." I say staying positive, "We've had an idea... what if o2l-" he gestures to himself and the boys "-do an event to help fund and help keep the music shop open?" He says and the boys all look at me waiting for my reacting. "A-Are you serious?" I asked shocked. They nod Sam and Jc chuckling at me,

"T-that would be amazing. Are you guys sure? I mean I could try to come up w-" "We're sure." Kian says cutting me off. "Ok, then can we start planning everything tomorrow? I'm wrecked" they all agreed and we all went to our rooms.
