Not Afraid

Kai untied the ropes, she stood up on her hurting feet. The door was opened and she stepped out looking around the room she walked into. It was a very luxury living room with a big TV, a couch that screamed rich and a beautiful picture of NYC that covered the whole wall. A beautiful bouquet of colorful flower on the coffee table. She looked around in daze. Wow. 

What a place, she thought, he must be loaded.

"Who are you? Bill Gates?" She asked wondering how Kai earn this place. 

"I killed the owner. Wait. You thought that I actually own this place? No... I am broke." He explained chuckling.

"Okaaay." Renesmee said totally freaking out inside, but she did not want to show him that. This guy killed the owner of this place. Talk about crazy.

"So... What now?" She asked. 

"Are you hungry? 'Cause I am starving. I'll fix us something." Kai rambled walking into the kitchen. 

He is obviously avoiding my question, she thought, I must be dying today.

"Actually, yes." She said sitting on the counter. Stupid habit. She just loves to watch people cook. He looked at her smirking. She returned the smirk which he took by surprise.

You are nothing new to me, she thought, I am friends with Damon Salvatore. 

Some time pasted and he was flipping the eggs in the air landing it in the pan. The pan looked as if the rainbow exploded on it. It was that colorful, eggs, veggies... Renesmee felt her stomach grumble. She was hungry, which was understandable, she totally bailed Damon's pancakes earlier.

"Showoff." She mumbled loud enough for him to hear. 

"You know, I am sure you never ate omelet this good." He said filling two plates.

"Huh." She huffed. She sat on the chair beside him.

"Kai?" She called out. "Why do you need leverage?"

Her question made the boy stop eating. Then, he told her his whole story. How he did not have his own magic. How his siblings avoided him, his parents called him an abomination. Then he killed them all. And then they trapped him in a prison world. Guess they had the last laugh. And now after 18 years he is finally out. He needs to merge with his twin sister Jo, Alaric's girlfriend, which will probably kill her, so the Mystic Falls gang will try to stop him. That's where Renesmee comes in.

"Wow." Was all she could say.

"Well my childhood wasn't really happy."

"If it will make you fell better, the whole vampire world called me an abomination, too. Because of all a-vampire-with-a-beating-heart situation." She said trying to point out that he was not alone in the misery.

So, after the whole Volturi visit years back, when Aro decided to let her live, Renesmee got cut out of everything. Volturi said that if she kills a human in her life, or something like that to attract attention, she would be executed. Harsh, but her reality. She was home schooled, most of her family did not know she existed, like her grandparents, basically anyone from her life that could be compeled. She was all alone. 

"How can someone call you an abomination?" He asked and Renesmee widened her eyes. Noticing how love sick he sounded, Kai looked away.

"Anyway... I am tired." She said trying to break the awkward silence made by his comment.

"You have just woken up." Kai noted out trying not to laugh.

"Being unconscious is fatiguing. Night-night." With that said, Renesmee stood up and walked towards one of the bedrooms.

She's right, Kai thought as he watched her leave, we're the same, yet so different.

As she layed on her bed, she thought about everything that she found out about Kai today. The person who snapped and murdered his siblings, who had the Salvatores and his whole coven as an enemies, who murdered the owner of this amazing apartment, who kidnapped her was in the room next to her's, but she was not afraid.

For some strange and unfamiliar reason, Renesmee was not afraid.
