Madison's pov.
A day has passed. People are scared now more than ever. The herd at the wall seems to multiply every hour which makes me worry about how long the wall can stay standing for.

After most of the group returned we went to Maggie's house to comfort her and reasure her that Glenn and Nicolas are fine. Although we don't don't know the truth I couldn't bare to tell her anything else.

I told Rick I needed air and the minute I stepped outside the house I was running as fast as I could back to Jenna. I snuck her back to Rick's house. I concidered hiding her in my room but thats way too obvious so I left her in the attic and told her not to leave.

And now.... nothing changed. Glenn and Nicolas are still missing.
Daryl, Abraham and Sasha contacted us on the walkie talkie but the battery went flat so for now we know they're alive but we don't know if they're safe which seems worse.
Jenna is still in the Attic.
Everyone in Alexandria is scared and fear for their families lives, not that i'm blaming them.
We're all stuck.
There's no way out and Maggie and Beth are curled up on the couch together with tear streaked cheeks knowing they can't do anything to help Glenn.

I clear my throat to catch their attention and they look up. I packed a bag for myself and put it on my back which is why they look at me so confused.
"I'm gonna stay the night with Rick. You guys need space to.... gather your thoughts. If you need anything i'm right next door. I'll help you, just say the words." I tell them.
Maggie looks too tired to respond so she gives me the best smile she can muster up, even if it is fake.
I turn and walk to the door but stop before leaving.
"He'll be okay, you know." I whisper to them and for a minute I believe my own words but then reality set in and so did my doubts. So like Maggie, I muster up a smile hoping it will reassure her even slightly.
"We love you Mads." Beth mumbles.
"Love you too, I got your backs."

I walk home and knock on the door at the same time I open it.
"So Rick I was thinking I wo-"
I find it hard to continue my sentence when I find Jessie and Rick practically eating each others faces. They tore apart just seconds after I walked in but it was too late I already saw and now they seem equally as uncomfortable as I feel.
"I, um, I was just leaving." Jessie states.
"Didn't look like it." I snap.
"Madison!" Rick scolds.
"What?"
He stays silent as Jessie leaves and shoots an apologetic glance in my direction.
I raise an eyebrow at him when I hear the door slam shut.
"You weren't meant to see that." He mutters.
"Really? You just decided to make out infront of the door, where absolutely nobody comes in. You're right Rick, how strange of me to come in through the door, usually I just slide down the chimney." I say sarcastically. But he just rolls his eyes while I laugh.
"Forget about it,okay?" He pleads.
"Sure." I shrug.

We walk into the kitchen and he starts to make lunch.
"You staying the night? You left a bag at the door."
"So you really like her then?"
"Mads! You said you'd forget about it."
"Yeah, I will but... just not now. I'll forget about it later." I promise.
"Yeah I really like her. I know her kid is a syco, but I just can't shake the feeling that I have when i'm with her. I haven't felt like this since I started going out with Lori. Do you think Carl would hate me?"
I chuckle. "Carl could never hate you. He looks up to you. You're his dad. Plus, I think he already knows there's something going on with You and Jessie."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Sure it annoyed both of us at first but you liked her long before Ron went crazy. So... it doesn't really matter what we think and Carl knows that too."
He nods and smiles.
"Despite everything thats happening right now... she makes me happy."
"Good. You deserve to be happy. And so does Maggie which is why i'm giving her space. I'll sleep here tonight and you and I are going to find a way to find Glenn... and Nicolas."
He nods and hugs me from his side.
"Do you believe he's alive?" He asks.
"I want to say yes. But I think thats because I want it to be true not because it actually is." I reply and he agrees.
"We'll figure it out." He promises

Carl's pov.
The colour red that pours from his head satisfies me especially knowing I made him bleed twice this week. The image of his hands on her keeps replaying in my head and every night all I can think is
"what if..."
"It nearly happened and I wasn't there to help her."
