MADISON'S POV.

"Now kid, I've already told ya, but if I have to say it again, I will. No funny business which means no talking or whispering to anyone, no looking at them and no wondering off without my say so. If you ignore me I'll have to make others pay for it." Negan reminds me as he sits in the back of the moving truck with me.
"I know, I heard you the first time." I sigh.

The back of the truck has two benches against the walls and Negan and I sit opposite each other while seven other saviors stand, looking out the back window. This route is probably familiar to them, but to me, I'm in the middle of nowhere. This is my first time going home since the night Daryl and I were taken. Daryl has already been home each week. Nearly five weeks in a row now.
But he dreaded it each week, as each week pasted and he seen everyone, the more broken they looked.

I think back to before we left the sanctuary. Negan gave me new clothes to wear instead of the big old ratty ones. He uncuffed me to get changed into jeans that had an elastic waistband on them and a casual top. My swollen stomach clear as day for everyone to see. I begged for a jumper. Nobody at home knows. Finally he gave in but the jumper didn't help. I still looked huge and I knew there was no way to hide it.

Negan stepped out of the room to let me change. Once I changed, I opened the door and looked outside. Two saviors stood outside alone with Kai who didn't leave my side even after the scan.
"I, uh, need help buttoning something." I lied to the saviors, they just looked away uncomfortably and Kai walked past them and into my new 'room' Negan has set up for me. The door is always locked. It's more like a prison.

"My boyfriend, he needs to know I'm okay. And I need to know he's okay. How the hell do I tell him when I can't even speak to anyone once I'm there?" I whined.
"I'm sure you'll figure it out. Is your man smart?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Maybe you don't need to talk at all. Speak to him another way, secretively."
"What are you talking about? He's not telepathic." I flustered.
"I don't know him, but I do know that you're very smart and if he desperately needs to know you're okay then he will find desperate answers from anything. Does that make sense?" He asked.
"Not even a little bit."
He smiled warmly but it disappeared when there was three loud knocks on the door.
"Just a minute." I shouted.
Kai pushed a brown paper bag into my hands. "Here, you almost forgot these earlier. I need to go. When you come back, find me. I'll be waiting." He promised.
I nodded and he lingered in the doorway for a second.
"I snuck down to Daryl while the guards were switching shifts. He told me to tell you that we're six miles west from the Hilltop. Does that make any sense to you?" He asked.
I nodded and smiled.
"Okay then. Good luck."
He disappeared out the door in seconds, giving me little time to investigate what's in the bag.

I heared two knocks on the door again, making me jump with fright. I quickly stuffed the small paper bag down my pants, the elastic waistband gripping it so it didn't fall out.
"You ready to go Madison?" Negan clasped his hands with excitement when he entered the room.
I rolled my eyes and stalked past him until I finally found the truck outside. He was right on my heels.

"We should be there soon." The driver in the front shouts, pulling me from my memories.
"How much longer?" Negan asks like a two year old in a long car journey.
"Five minutes." The driver calls back.
I take a deep breath. I have five minutes to think of a way to get a message to Carl without Negan or his men noticing.

For five minutes I scramble my brains, thinking of ways to speak to Carl or Rick without getting caught. But all I can think of is the constant nerves radiating from me. I haven't been home in so long. People are gonna know I'm pregnant. I knew the day was coming when they'd find out, but I just hadn't expected it to be so soon.
