Chapter XV What Is Your Problem?

Alex says, "Honestly, I have no idea why she needed that information.  Why don't I start personally training you, only if you want."  Mikayla pretending to be shock asks, "Is Alec asking me on a date."  Alex loos confused and asks, "Date?"  Mikayla says, "I- never mind.  Yes I would like that."  Over the next couple of weeks Alex and Mikayla grow closer.  Alex continues to personally train Mikayla and everyday Mikayla's skills improve.  Alex and Mikayla pull pranks, talk, and sneak off at night.  Then all of a sudden Alex starts to avoiding Mikayla again.  This has been going on for a couple weeks.  Right now Miles is on patrol duty and Alex is keeping him company.  Carly and Mikayla are in the Ares cabin talking.

Carly asks, "So whats going on between you and Alex?"  Mikayla answers, "I thought we were fine, but then he started avoiding me again."  Carly asks, "Do you like her?"  Mikayla says without hesitation, "Yes."  Carly says, "Don't ever give up on her then.  Miles hasn't seen her like this since Amy.  I defiantly see a personality change in her.  Whatever you do don't abandon her, she has already had enough of that."  Mikayla sighs and says, "Its kinda hard when everything is one sided." Carly says, "Everything is not one sided."

Mikayla asks, "How do you know that?"  "Because Alex opened up to you.  She trust you and that is probably scaring her" Carly says.  "So what's going on between you and Miles" asks Mikayla changing the subject.  Carly replies, "Nothing, why do you ask?"  Mikayla says, "I see the way you two look at each other.  Also when Alec does talk to me, she complains about how Miles won't stop talking about you.  You should tell him you feel the same way."  Carly says, "I don't know what you are talking about, we are just friends."  Mikayla says, "Right.....and I'm not a demigod."

Later That Day The Beach

Alex is sitting on the beach playing with the water and just thinking.  She hears someone walking towards her.  She looks behind her and sees Mikayla.  She just sighs.  Mikayla sits down next to her.  Alex says, "I knew this was coming, I was hoping to avoid it a little longer."  "What is your problem" asks Mikayla.  Alex says, "Mika-"  Mikayla says, "Don't Mika me.  One day your talking to me and the next your avoiding me.  One day your opening up to me and the next your avoiding me again.  I keep telling you I'm not going to leave you and I proved that to you.  So let me ask you this, why?"  

Alex decides to play dumb and asks, "Why what?"  Mikayla snaps and says, "Enough of your games!  I don't know if I can keep doing this if you won't fully trust me."  Alex asks, "What are you saying Mika?"  Mikayla says, "I'm telling you to choose."  Alex looks confused and asks, "Choose what?"  Mikayla says, "If you want me in your life or not."
