Chapter XI Capture The Flag

Mikayla says, "These last few days have been the worst."  "It couldn't have been that bad" Miles says.  "It has though" says Mikayla, "Amy is furious with me and it doesn't help that she is the cabin leader.  She gives me the worst cabin chores, she works me the hardest, she-"  Alex interrupts Mikayla and asks, "What is the princess complaining about now?"  "You'r e the worst" screams Mikayla.  Mikayla storms off.  Alex looks at Miles and raises an eye brow.  Miles simply says, "Amy."

Alex says, "Ah, got it.  You ready?"  Miles smiles and says, "Always."  The two teams take their positions.  They hear the horn.  The game begins.  Miles and Alex run off.  They get cornered by a group from the other team.  A fight breaks out.  Miles knocks out the last camper.  Miles turns around.  Miles doesn't see Alex anywhere.  "Alex....Alex?  Where did you go" asks Miles.

Miles hear a sound from behind him.  He raises his sword and turns around.  A sword clashes into his.  They start fighting and Miles somehow knocks off his attackers helmet.  Miles asks, "Carly?"  Carly looks confused and looks around.  She then asks, "Miles?  Where's Alex?"  Miles says, "That's what I was wondering."  Carly says, "Time to put the plan into action."  Out of nowhere they hear Alex say, "Change of plans."

Miles and Carly turn around and see Alex.  Alex suddenly swings riptide at Miles and knocks him out.  Carly looks at Alex with a shocked expression.  Alex just shrugs and then swings riptide at Carly.  Carly expecting that, blocks it.  Alex swings his foot out and knocks Carly's feet out from under her.  Carly not expecting that falls onto the ground.  Alex kneels and hits Carly in the head with the hilt of riptide.  Alex grabs a helmet from the enemy team and puts it on.  "Sorry" Alex says.

Alex stands up and runs off.  Alex keeps running until she finds Mikayla.  He motions for Mikayla to follow her.  She does.  She leads her to her teams flag.  She climbs up and grabs the flag while Mikayla watches for her teammates.  Alex jumps and seems to float the last foot.    Mikayla asks, "Who are you?"  Alex doesn't say anything and hands Mikayla the flag and they start to run back to her side.  All of a sudden Alex pushes Mikayla behind a tree, puts back on her helmet, and then she is surrounded by three of the enemy teammates.  They fight.  Once the fight is over Mikayla comes out from behind the tree to see someone from the opposite team.

Alex says, "Surprise."  Mikayla asks, "Alec?  What are you doing?"  "Isn't obvious?  I'm helping you" Alex says.  Mikayla asks, "Wait, that was you?  Your willing to help me, even with the deal we made?"  Alex says, "Yes.  Look your side is just beyond the river, if you leave now you can make it and win it."  Mikayla says, "But-"  Alex interrupts her and says, "Look, this was my choice that I made.  Now hit me with your sword and if someone ask, you managed to find the flag and retrieve it.  You were running back to your side when you saw me fighting three f your teammates.  You waited until I finally managed to knock out the final one and then you came and knocked me out."

Mikayla says, "But-"  Alex interrupts Mikayla and asks, "Mika, do you trust me?"  Mikayla looks at Alex and says, "For some reason I do."  Alex says, "Then do it.  Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself."  Mikayla still looks uncertain.  Alex gives her a smile and nods head.  Mikayla swings her sword at Alex.  Alex falls to ground pretending to be knocked out.  Mikayla runs to her side and the horn goes off.  The Ares cabin runs to her and lifts her up onto their shoulders.  Amy just glares at her.  They carry her off to celebrate.  Mikayla's team minus Amy and Carly, "Mikayla!  Mikayla!  Mikayla!  Mikayla!"
