Chapter XIV The Past

After her talk with Miles and Carly, Mikayla walks off to find Alex to get some answers.  After searching for an hour she finally finds her sitting under a tree by the lake.  She is starring off at the sky.  She walks up to her and sits down by her.  She  looks at the lake and Alex continues to star at the sky.  Alex says, "I assume you have some questions and want answers."  Mikayla asks, "Why are you so guarded?  Why have you been avoiding me?"  Alex answers, "My past."

Mikayla gives her the really face and says, "Alec."  Alex responds, "Mika."  Mikayla says, "Answer the questions."  Alex responds, "I did."  Mikayla is getting frustrated and asks, "Are you really going to do that again?"  Alex plays dumb and asks, "Do what again?"  Mikayla says, "Use loopholes to get out of doing something."  Alex says, "Technically, that wasn't a complete loophole.  Its because of somethings that happened in my past."  "Alec, you can trust me and I'm not leaving anytime soon" says Mikayla.  Alex shakes head and says, "That's what everyone says."

Mikayla says, "Well I didn't when I had the chance."  Alex sighs and runs hand through hair.  She says, "My parents died when I was five protecting me from being captured by some so called friends working for the enemy.  Up until that point people just used me for one thing or another, that's when I become guarded and stopped letting people in.  I meet Miles when I was six, he was an orphan too and three years old, so I looked after him.  Over the years we bonded together.  When I was twelve, I met Amy, she was the first person in years that I had let in, lets just say one of the biggest mistakes I made.  When I was fourteen, she dropped me because she didn't need me any more.  And now I'm seventeen and there's you.  You can ask any two questions and I will answer completely and honestly."

Mikayla asks, "Why did people use you?"  Alex answers, "One because I'm the most powerful demigod ever born, I'm a quadgod.  I'm Hermes like Miles is.  I'm also Poseidon, Zeus, and Athena.  He and everyone knows one set of my Grandparents, Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase.  What he or anyone else don't know is my second set of grandparents, Travis Stroll and Thalia Grace.  And if you have studied the basics, you know that should never have happened, but do to some circumstance it happened.  To make sure no one would know, they changed the last name to Maximus.  Two because I'm the best fighter/strategist ever.  I've saved this camp multiple times, I've also beaten monsters  I shouldn't have beaten til I was much older.  Finally three, I'm related to the famous Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase."

Mikayla asks, "What's something Miles does't know about your past?"  Alex thinks for a couple of minutes and then says, "The real reason Amy used me.  He thought it was just to rise in the ranks at camp so she could be top dog as soon as possible, that was only part of it.  The other part was using me to gather information.  Information about everyone at camp, information about the camp, information about everything.  Specifically information about me."  Mikayla asks, "Why did she need the information?"  Alex says, "You already asked your two questions."  "Alec, please" Mikayla asks while giving her a puppy face.  "Fine, last question" Alex says sighing in defeat.  Mikayla replies, "Ok."
